I have 01 STS that the sensors are telling me to change the brake pads.
Do i need to do any thing different to change them because of the sensors or is the same as any other car?

Some tips here. I did mine before they were due.
I believe that there is a sensor(s) that has to be replaced.
My mechanic said that he couldn't fix the brakes properly so he did the next best thing and made the horn louder!!
The sensors are sacrificial. If you get GM brake "kit" it includes the sensors, which is just a wire with a small plug that slips into a cutout on the top of the pad. As the pads wear, the plastic touches the rotor, melts, wires come apart and opens the circuit. Sensors are available seperately I believe for about $25.
