I was on vaction in Charlivoix, Michigan this past week and saw for the first time in person the new Lincoln Navigator in pearl white. My guess it was a Ford executive due to the manufactur's plates. I accually liked the new grill work. It definatly has that "bling" factor but, also has an elegant look. I love cars and trucks with nice grill work considering how many cars these days lack grills completly. I didn't have a camera with me so unfortunatly I didn't get a picture. For those who haven't seen it this is a picture I found on line.

For me the jury is still out on the front end. I'm sure after awhile it will grow on me but I would be interested in seeing how an aftermarket grille looks on it instead. But the inside is VERY nice!

Yes, Ford did a nice job with the interior. I especially like the instrument cluster, defintly has a very classy look. It reminds me of the Lincoln Mark III, IV, and V dash boards.

The front end is a little reminiscent of the early-60's Continentals. The new x-over suv also has it.

I like these pictures:

Well they also added another version of the Navigator. They added a extended version called the L version. But after looking at the interiors between the Navigator and Escalade I think I like the Navigator's better. It looks more upscale and better put together.

EDIT: Note to Lincoln....MAKE THE MKS!!!!

I thought that about the previous generation as well (2004-2006).

The seats are more comfortable too.

Damn, that gauge cluster does look a lot like the Mark IV's! Except they did the right thing here and threw in a tach instead of a giant clock! I'm surprised that Lincoln went with that design, I thought nobody liked the guage cluster of the Mark III,IV and V.

Here's my favorite place to go for automobile pictures - and the link for the new Navigator:

Yes, it IS very nice.. And I think the grill looks more "chrome" in person than in the pictures.. I saw a video and the grill really sparkled.. It looks a little matte in these pictures...

Maybe the L version would pique my interest, otherwise get me an Escalade ESV. As for the interior, Escalade all the way...

And also i went to Lincoln's website and you could make your own Navi but some of the options aren't priced yet and they have optional 22" rims and an upgraded V8 that says 350+ hp

Haha, yes the giant clock. I could never figure out why they even did that, especially in the early 70's when the engines still had respectible power output you would think they'd use a tach. Thank God they didn't do the clock like that on the Navigator. I definatly like the dash though, very elegant, very classy.

The Lincoln's? Looks like a truck interior with leather and wood. And the same stupid interior design throughout their lineup. I think the Zephyr is a good looking car with the same hideous dash as the Navigator. Sorry, Escalade all the way.

I think the Mark LT has similar taillights.

I think the clock was done to make it seem like the ultimate luxury car. You've got a 6x4 analog clock right behind your steering wheel, with the numbers in roman numerals. It reminds me of a grandfather clock in the smoking room in a victorian mansion. Exactly the look Lincoln was going for. I think a tachometer would be considered asinine in a car like that, stock anyways. Most owners couldn't care less about the engine RPM, and that was always the thought behind all american luxury cars before about 1986 or so, with the introduction of the digital tach in the Toronado, Eldorado and Riviera.

Anyways, if I ever get a Mark IV, I'll try and get a custom made tach to fit where the clock was.

not impressed. those taillights are right out of the 60's....just plain bad. Interior is still crappy. Looks like not much has changed since our 04 Aviator...

Because if they think they are cutting into the Escalade's demographic at all with this old think design, they're quite mistaken.

For all the competition between the Camaro and Mustang, the Mustang always sold better for whatever reason. It's going to be the same for the Navigator and Escalade.
