My car is an 05, Raven black with 6mt, 3.6l engine. It has just rolled 20k, so I thought I would give an update on my almost 2 years of ownership.

Interior.

Funny thing about this car. In almost 2 years, I haven't found one build quality issue, inside or out. I have to believe something is misaligned, or not tightened to spec, but I'll be darned if I can find it.

No squeaks, rattles, groans or noises of any kind. Everything that is supposed to stay put has, everything that is supposed to move still does. I am getting some wear on the driver side door pull, the top layer of coating is delaminating. I suppose if I were more anal this would bug me, but it's not a big deal in my eyes. I will see if at my next inspection it can be replaced.

The only issue with the interior is the DIC. Once a month, thereabouts, it goes blank. Turning off the car and restarting it brings it back, but then the CD change has to re-initialize, and all milage data is lost. I haven't had it fixed, well, because it's again not a big deal. I have told the service dept, just in case the problem progresses.

Exterior.

Damn, that is some soft paint. Look at it hard and it will scratch. I just finished claying the car, and can recommend that procedure with two thumbs up. Also, I'll be using carnuaba wax from now on, cause I really like the finished product. Not much else to say, except I like the style more now then when I bought it. From several angles, it looks very aggressive to me, which I like.

Engine.

I love the engine. At 20k, it pulls hard all the way to the red line, it's quiet when I am driving at low rpms, but has a satisfying growl when I let it loose. I have recently taken to running around in second gear at about 45-55mph, just to hear the engine note.

Transmission.

The only thing I would ask for in this tranny is a shorter throw gear shift. Other then that, it's been flawless.

No maintainence costs so far, but I'll be replacing tires come the fall. Seems 20k is about it for the tread. Other then that, the car has run great, and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm looking forward to buying it when my lease is up, or trading it on the 08.

Best of luck to all of you with your vehicles.

Congrats on hitting 20k (going to have a birthday party for it? ):alchi:

I own an '03 Lux AT light platinum w/Bose that's just shy of 30k (bought it used with 16k miles last year) and I can report similar experience. No squeeks, rattles, delaminations of interior parts or anything. The infamous RSA's were replaced @20K under warranty as was the grey rear bezel. Analog clock is next.

Engine is strong, handle's great. Looks great. Clayed and carnuba wax once. People really comment on how great a job Caddy is now doing with their paint.

My dealer has an absolutely georgeous '07 white diamond/tan lux/sport, sunroof, 18's etc etc sitting on the floor that is reeeeeal tempting. Then I look at the $42k sticker price and say naaaaaah. Maybe next year.

Congrats. My CTS has performed similarly (no issues).

Well just had my 05 in for the following:
1) Oil Leak - seals were bad, fixed
2) Sunroof vibration = not fixed
3) Small panel on driver rear of car (near tire), reglued = fixed
4) Cigarette lighters = fuse not holding ,not fixed
5) Paint peeling around radio = part ordered

Service dept gets A+, Gm gets an F for quality! For a $36,000 car, it sure does not show! I m happy that my dealer is able to fix these problems!
