View Full Version : Another dealership story..... CTS_FAN 07-20-06, 10:17 PM I took my CTS to the Chevy dealership that I bought it from today to have the rear bezel and guages replaced before my warranty is up. They call me 2 hours later and tell me that the bulletin they have says the "condensation" in the bezel is "normal" according to Cadillac and that they didn't see anything about replacing the guages because the software upgrade fixes it!
THEN, they try to talk me into a new battery and tire rotation for $80!!!! I was SOO pissed!!
I told them not to touch anything and I picked up my car...then called the local Caddy dealership. I told them what the Chevy guys said and the guy says "bullshit"...bring it in, we'll take care of you! My new bezel should be here Tuesday! :bouncy:
They did do the software fix for the clock though...and the damn thing is working now!!:rant2: I want the temperature guage!! :want:
Sorry for the rant but I was SO pissed, then SO surprised by the Caddy guys! :2thumbs: wait4me6920 07-20-06, 10:50 PM I took my CTS to the Chevy dealership that I bought it from today to have the rear bezel and guages replaced before my warranty is up. Well, if you really want the temp gauge, find a '04 or later cluster from one of the big salvage yards - mine cost around $100. Then there's the cost of having it sent off to have the proper mileage programmed in, certifying it & slapping it in. Maybe $300 in total (including cost of cluster), tops, if you let the dealer take care of sending it off & installing the new cluster. Or enjoy having a choice of which clock you prefer to check. What were they thinking!:bigroll: FlyFlip420 07-20-06, 11:44 PM What caddy dealership did you go to?? CTS_FAN 07-20-06, 11:48 PM What caddy dealership did you go to??
Poage Automall in Forsyth, only Cadillac dealer within 23 miles of me! ctsvett 07-21-06, 01:20 AM that is what http://www.cadillacfaq.com/dealerrank/ is for...
Put those repsonses up!
Reed Cts fan you got to watch ol Miles. Told ya Poage has been very good to me called at 7 this morning they told me to bring it in for the clock Monday. The good thing is that if you are having a problem with something and your warrenty runs out and that problem happens again they'll still fix it. nyyankeehater 07-21-06, 10:57 AM I just called my dealer to find out the status on mine. They have had it since Tuesday and are now trying to tell me that the Volant is the cause of the Differential noise. :banghead: WTF!! I had to show them the IB's about the Rear Bezel and the Sport Mode issue as they had no idea about it, nor could they find any info on it. They have not even pulled it appart and they promised me that it would be back to me today.
Ugh, why do these shops not get it? I have many Cadillac purchases left in my lifetime (I hope) and they have to play games. :dammit: jteolis 07-21-06, 06:30 PM I just called my dealer to find out the status on mine. I think it might be a good idea to swap out the Volant prior to asking them to do major WARRANTY repair work But then what do I know, I'm a Yankee fan. nyyankeehater 07-21-06, 07:35 PM I had to call them again to find out what was going on... still more vomit spewing out. :vomit:
They had to get Cadillac Tech Support involved because it is a differential problem. Of course they tell them that I have "after market parts" on the car. Like the Volant air flow has anything to do with the Diff. They try telling me they are hearing the same noise at idol with the engine reving. I told them that when they rev it over 3000rpm they will hear the growl of the Volant towards the FRONT of the car. That when they drive it between 40 and 50 they will hear a moan at the REAR of the car.
So THEN they started blaming me for not following the proper break in of the car over the first 500 miles... I bought the damn thing with 14,400 already on it!! "oh, I did not realize that". So they finally tell me they are going to fix the Diff, now after having it for 4 days, they are just ordering the parts today. Damn :kick: . Frustrates the hell out of me when a sales team can be so strong and one that "gets it" when the techs just kill the whole experience.

You are probably right, but that is NOT something we should have to do. A little extra air does not do a damn thing. Yankee fan, Sox fan, Royals fan.. whatever we are all Cadillac fans and that is what is most important, they should encourage our passion rather than try to squash it. It is a good thing I love that car, I miss my car. Damn, wheres my beer????? I could be incorrect, but I thought the odometer reading is remembered in the ECM and no longer a factor of the instrument cluster? CTS_FAN 07-21-06, 10:20 PM Cts fan you got to watch ol Miles. So far I am very pleased with them, ask me again next week after they are supposed to have my new rear bezel?? I haven't had any problems with Poage I'm going in Monday for my clock If they screw me around you'll be the first to know. Cool, the software update seems to have fixed my clock problem. My rear bezel should be in Monday or Tuesday! :bouncy: I asked if it would have the gold emblem like it does now and they didn't know...I see you got a gold one so I hope I did!! CTS fan ,I can't remember, is your grill plain, painted or chrome? If it's not painted there's a guy in MTZ that will paint it for a good price if he's got your color. jteolis 07-22-06, 01:52 PM I could be incorrect, but I thought the odometer reading is remembered in the ECM and no longer a factor of the instrument cluster?
YES the odometer readout is only registering what the ECM has stored in it for total mileage. jteolis 07-22-06, 01:54 PM I had to call them again to find out what was going on... still more vomit spewing out. :vomit:

I STILL thinks its a GOOD idea. sbuscha 07-22-06, 03:18 PM I have been trying to get a new cluster. I have gone through (2) clusters. One time the clock was off and they replaced it with another 03. The second time the gas gauge was not working and again they replaced it with an 03. There will be a next time AND I will suggest prior they do an 04 since the 03 cluster's suck!! Mine is already painted to match the car...love it!
The software fix for my clock is now 2 days old and it's still displaying the correct time!! I was sure hoping for the temp guage!! :crybaby: | |
