Is their one in the works yet? It should be!! Wouldn't it be great to have a place where one can compare STS-V 1/4 times with various modifications in one posting.

like the CTS-V has;

I can give you 1/8 mile times! I just got back from my local track.

I made 9 runs starting at about 6:30PM. It was VERY hot and humid out and not much of a crowd so all the runs were done quickly with no cool down time. The score so far is an undefeated 9-0. Mostly Mustangs and foreign crap with a Hemi Dodge thrown in.

There were no real surprises. The car needs drag radials to launch without spinning... no TC mode at all would allow you to just slam it and go. Putting the trans in sport mode proved the best with it hitting every shift right on time at 6000 rpm.

Anyhow, enough of the small talk...here are the best results:

Reaction Time 0.113
60' Time 1.989
1320' Time 5.753
1/8 Mile 8.863 @ 80.247MPH

That's a pretty good time and really nice 60' time on street tires. Some drag radials should get that monster moving even faster. I have a feeling the STS-V would show better results on a 1/4 mile track where she can stretch her legs a bit more!

My 1/8, just for reference is:

Drag radials will help that 60'

Yeah, On my Fleetwood I just drop the air down to 25# and it launches like a cannon! I have not heard from anywhere what kind of damage the same policy may do to those high dollar run flat tires.

So the next goal is to find some cheap wheels with a 6 lug bolt pattern that will clear the Brembo brakes and mount a 28" overall diameter drag radial. Yee Ha!:stirpot:

Wow! Very, very nice time.

Did you use your street tires or drag radials?

Again  :worship: :highfive:

Street tires set at 25psi... just enough burnout to get the trash off. My first time trial, I spun and lifted, then spun again and ran 13.4 spanking a Hemi charger.

The next runs I stayed in it and just let it come to me and it worked much better doing 13.2. I broke out in the second round running a 13.24 on a 13.31 dial and that was beating the other car and standing on the brakes at the end.

The computer was VERY upset about the tire pressures, but did not interfere by cutting power.

Hello,
Great passes!!! Is that a bone stock V-Series? One of these days we will get out there and do some more testing. Again great pass!

Bone Stock!... 11,700 miles on the odometer. I kind of wish this had been a testing event in stead of brackets. My last run was 13.24 and I was hard on the brakes in the trap. I think it would have been in the 13.10's if I had stayed in it.

The NHRA tech inspectors on site were concerned about the "drive shaft loop" that is required for cars running faster than 13.99. There is a restraint bar there but not a complete loop. I can get down to 11.49 before I have to install a roll bar.

My god that's insane for these cars.

13.10? Drag radials puts you maybe in the 12's.

Again, bravo!

nice runs. i think i am more impressed at just how clean and new your car looks with 11k on it...and thats at the track! gave me the inspiration to get out and detail mine this weekend. btw, what was your best mph during your runs.

The top picture is by Dustin Stover, a journalist that was on site. He had a monster camera. The lower picture was taken on my Olympus C-740 at 2048x1536 reolution. The video clip was taken on a Minolta Dimage Z1.

The best MPH was on my first run at 103mph. It was wierd because on that run, I spun badly on the line and had to get out of the throttle.

Was the Charger just an R/T or an SRT-8, I'm guessing you would lose to an SRT-8.

I don't think so... There was one there and he ran 1/4 Mile ET: 13.510
1/4 Mile MPH: 106.310

I have a friend that has one too, we have driven each other's rides and both agree that the STS is faster. I will say that the Dodge "sounds" faster because of the loud exhaust and lack of insulation. It is a true raw muscle car! Also if the dough was thrown down to addd a supercharger to the Dodge, there would be absolutly no contest... the Dodge would wipe up!

While im sure that would be true, it is just like saying after that, if enough dough was thrown down to up the sts-v's displacement 1.7 liters to match the srt-8's, then it (sts-v) would win.

all in all, with enough money, anything can be faster and that is why it only matters what is faster when the race happens.

The SRT must have had an aweful 60' time...since it trapped 3mph faster but still ran a slower 1/4 time. Again, nice car and nice times!

Man....I need to get out more often. I'm consistently in the CTS-V threads and hardly venture out to the rest of the forum. I need to hurry up and payoff my CTS-V. I want an STS-V for daily driving now.

^^^^^ What, 13.2 on a stock car of this size is not impressive? Why the troll? V guys are all brothers, why attack someone for the car they chose.

I took mine to Irwindale CA. Ran an 8.773 with traction control on, in drive. Took the traction control off, heated the tires, put it back on and went 8.772. Great bracket car!

If you guys are interested, I could host an STS-V quarter mile time page... I'll get something going as soon as I can. I'll use what I see here so far and whatever you guys post afterwards... I guess it'll be a mix of all Cadillac 1/4 mile times. V's and Non-Vs - if for nothing else but reference...

Okay. I'll be taking times from here AND here:

Okay.. I made it more official..

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/timeslips.php

You can get there by clicking the "Timeslips" link in the blue navbar up top.. The first entry is me. It's just a test. I don't own a CTS-V.. Once we get some real times up there, I'll remove that..

So.. I think this will work out better since we don't have to wait for me to find time before it "goes live". Once you post your times, they're up and ready for anybody to see..
