View Full Version : My 07 E&G grille and Volant cold air intake installed, yo! Jackalope Eye 07-17-06, 08:05 PM Got 'em installed at Casa De Cadillac in Sherman Oaks last week. Sorry for the crappy pictures, didn't have time to wash it and it's a really overcast day...but I figured you guys would wanna see 'em anyway.
I'm glad I went with the classic verticle grille....EVERYBODY gets the mesh...I like to stand apart, ya know?
So when the hell does a programmer come out...pappa needs some more horsepower!!! Jackalope Eye 07-17-06, 08:07 PM Oh yeah...and dig the FACTORY 22's....I got ALL the options early on....I placed the very 1st order the dealership took for them. Looks mighty fine! LemonTwist 07-17-06, 10:09 PM Man ... I am axiously waiting for my '07 Black ESV.
Thats a tight look. that looks sweet have you drove much since the install of the volant did it change your milage:) Jackalope Eye 07-18-06, 12:48 AM I'm not sure about the mileage....but it sure sounds good. Throaty and deeper, plus I can definately notice some more power on the takeoff. Great looking truck you got there. :) EXT_Vegas 07-18-06, 07:55 AM What is the material composition of the air tube? It looks like plastic. I don't like the seam running along the side. Looks kinda cheap. I do like the look of the air box, is the top aluminum? RANGER 66 07-18-06, 08:23 AM Looks good where did you get your grill from?
RLTW 05 Cadillac Escalade 07-18-06, 09:26 AM Looks great. This is the first E&G Classic Vertical grille I have seen installed on a 2007. I think it looks really nice. Congratulations on the beautiful ESV. Enjoy it.
Thanks. What is the material composition of the air tube? It looks like plastic. I don't like the seam running along the side. Looks kinda cheap. I do like the look of the air box, is the top aluminum?
The tube is plastic, I have a Volant for my 07' and you can't even see the seam on mine   the top is plastic/composite with a carbon fiber look to it. Jackalope Eye 07-18-06, 01:17 PM I called E&G direct and asked where I should order the grille from and they recommended Casa De Cadillac dealership in my area as they carry & install a lot of aftermarket accessories.
I'm not disappointed in the way the Volant looks....WAY better than any K&N. I had a Air Raid on my Yukon 2 years back and this one looks a lot cleaner and more updated. CadillacGrillz 07-18-06, 09:26 PM hey can u post pics but far from the truck if u can i wanna c it good its to close Chopper9 07-18-06, 10:49 PM Do you notice any difference with the Volant installed?
HP? Torque? MPG? Jackalope Eye 07-18-06, 11:23 PM Big difference on take off..sounds better. Haven't checked the MPG yet...will keep you posted.
BTW- Chopper is such a great F'n movie. gigarnage 07-19-06, 01:49 AM I just installed the VOlant in my truck today. I think it's a great improvement. The sound is awesome when really opening it up on the freeway. Installation was really easy, I did it by myself in about half an hour using only a flathead screw driver. Jackalope Eye 07-19-06, 12:29 PM Yeah, I was thinking of doing the exhaust but once I got the Volant installed, I thought it sounded good enough....don't want it any louder now. Chopper9 07-19-06, 04:36 PM Thanks for the replys.
Do you guys have a good source for the volant?
(Good source meaning best price.)
And yes... Chopper was great, wasn't it? Eric Bana did one hell of a job. gigarnage 07-19-06, 05:03 PM www.autoanything.com $328 Jackalope Eye 07-19-06, 05:29 PM Yeah, that's where I got it too. Blu Chip 07-19-06, 05:35 PM  on that website it says it's only like 200? or am i looking at the wrong one:confused: Jackalope Eye 07-19-06, 06:30 PM Call them up...I just tried the website and it wouldn't give an exact price...just a "starting at" general price range. I think I paid just over $300. gigarnage 07-19-06, 08:32 PM http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/60A1817A0A0.aspx flyboy767 07-21-06, 10:12 PM Installed Volant air intake a couple weeks ago and am now getting around 12.5 mpg city--what's your mpg after the install?? Thanks Jackalope Eye 07-22-06, 01:59 AM That's about what I'm getting now myself. The only thing I don't like the E&G front grill is that your truck looks like 2006 Platium version when you look at the front.
I had my Volant installed two months ago. Runs great, 12 to 13 MPG around the city. Jackalope Eye 07-23-06, 05:55 PM The only thing I don't like the E&G front grill is that your truck looks like 2006 Platium version when you look at the front.

Man, why you gotta burst my bubble, kid?
I still ike it tho.....I just didn't like the deep set mesh on the stock grille. $285.00 from Racers Dreams on E-Bay, and when I got mine there was no S&H charges. :) |
