Just got a new 07 ESV. I had to take a long trip immediately with kids. The panasonic DVD player plays some DVDs without aproblem but others it just displays "Parental Violation" I used the remote to see if there was some sort of setting or password to enter but neither is there. Nothing related to Parental controls. I also tried the config on the dash display. Nothing there either.
I called Cadiallac and they first tried to tell me that it was a problem related to my navigation system. Problem is- I don't have a navigation system. They then said I had to go to my dealer. I'm 2000+ miles away now and won't be back to the dealer for weeks. The DVD player is key for keeping the kids enterntained and my sanity in place...

I'm guess there is some sequence of keys to press on the remote anyone know what to do?

Any help on this?
Thanks
Paul

No end result. Same problem. I'm still on the road and this is still a problem. It has nothing to do with the rating of a movie/dvd either. One of the movies they tried to play was a Disney movie. Only thing that has changed is that now sometimes it asks for a password. But we never setup a password and I have no idea what the default password might be. Any help appreciated. We're on the road dealing with a death in the family.

Anything on this in the owner's manual? Or perhaps in a supplement for the Rear Seat Entertainment?

I went through the owners manual and there is nothing. The guy from Cadillac was aware of this problem but he said that the instructions for fixing it were in the supplemental manual for the Navigation system. He specifically said that it wasn't in the manual. Like I said, the problem with that is that I don't have the nav system and did not get any supplemental manual that gives instructions for fixing this.

They should fax or email you that without question.

You bought and 2007 ESV .. you should not be waiting on a supplementary manual that was "supposed" to accompany the main manual.

Thats an unacceptable response in my book. Raise hell.

Oh .. btw .. sorry for your loss in the family. My condolences.

Unfortunately this is for the unit with the "SuperNav Radio." Mine doesn't have the nav unit and there are no "softkeys" as described.

I really appreciate the attempt though.
