Any of you other 07 Escalade owners getting constantly brighted by oncomming traffic? I asked the dealership when I took it in and they said that you cannot even adjust the bulbs up and down, just left and right.

I must get flashed about every 10-15 cars. Gets annoying.

Nah, they're just typical xenon's. The problem is the light sits higher then most vehicles, which equates to directly into the oncoming drivers eyes. My mothers range has the same problem. In fact, lots of pickups have the same problem if they ever upgrade the bulbs.

I used to have a Hummer H2 and I had the exact same problem. I had the off road package and it made the Hummer sit so high that I was constantly getting flashed from oncomming traffic to turn off my brights, even though they weren't on. I did, however, have upgraded xenon lights put in my H2 and I had those removed after too many cars flashed their lights at me.

Thanks.

There has to be adjustments up and down as well as side to side because of the different heights, and tolerances in the manufacturer of the parts. I remember in 02' when I got my 03' Escalade the dealership told me the same thing, they could not adjust the headlights, and of course you can. That is not good if they can be adjusted up and down. :(

I adjusted mine 3 days after taking delivery. It has the same, typical headlamp adjustment as any other GM truck.

Just open the hood, and where the painted portion of the grill fascia meets the headlamp assembly, is the galvanized adjustment bolt. It only adjusts up down, but I can't find anything for side to side.

You can buy the headlamp tool at any auto-parts store, or take a standard metric nut driver set, and one of them will work as long as your pressing down while turning. That's what I use.

I dropped my '07 2" in the rear and had to do it again.

Just an update, the dealership called and said they checked the lights position and they WERE to high... by 2 inches. They were also off an inch the the right. He appologized for telling me the wrong info (not being able to adjust them)

No biggie, but I wonder how (why) Caddy is letting these things ship with the bulbs not correctly aimed. Do they just not check it... or maybe they get loose in shipping?

My opinion is that they are adjusting them before fuel, 3rd row seats, spare tire, and/or other issues where the rear is too high. Once all that stuff is in, the aim is just enough to get into peoples eyes.

Having played with HID kits in earlier cars, I've come across some pretty accurate settings. I like just enough reach to see quite aways' ahead, but not above an approaching cars bumper height at 300 ft.

On freeways, the front tends to come down via air resistance, and it shortens the usable light, that's why I keep it a little high.

why do manufacturers do that...why do they ship thier cars with the incorrect tire pressure, and messed up headlights, I got mine adjusted when I got my oil changed, it was easy, they didn't charge me and now they are perfect.

DaveThey do have air suspension so it will level off as for tire pressure they put it around 50 psi so if the truck is not sold for a while it doesnt indent the tires. This has nothing to do with these its probably more to do with assembly some small problems in the assembly line that needs to be arriased from the dealers.

The theory about the air suspension doesn't work because the air suspension only will kick in if the the rear is too low. It cannot lower itself beyond the spring's resting level.

When I took out the rear seats, the rear end came up a 1/2 inch, even if I pull the air lines out of the shocks. With the spare and no gas, it would get even more ridiculous. That's why I put in a 2" drop spring set in the rear, and allow the air-ride settings make it level, with or without seats or with boat in tow.

The receiving dealer is supposed to take care of all of this when they receive each vehicle along with removing any shipping material, tire pressure and fluid check etc...

I started a long road trip a couple days ago. about 15 miles from my house the car in front of me pulled over then drove up behind me and put his brights on then flashed me repeatedly. I pulled over thinking there was something wrong with my vehicle. the jerk pulled up behind me then took off. I guess I scared him... Anyway I figured out the problem was that he thought I had my high beams on and was annoyed. I figured it was going to be a long trip after that.
