this weekend i noticed i had to add about 6 oz (a lil more than half of water bottle) of coolant to the tank to get to mormal level.
i checked for leaks but nothing.
i had to replace my waterpump like 5 months ago but have not added any coolant til now.
any advice why i the coolant level lowered?

6 oz. is an aweful small amount. If you are checking the overflow tank it seems like it could vary that much just based on engine temp when you check it.

Coolant can leak internally I think, into the cylinders and get burned up and out the tailpipe. A BIG leak will manefest itself as clouds of white smoke out the pipe, a small one (if that is what this is) you would never notice in the exhaust.

1. you had air in the system and once purged, it is replaced with coolant thus lowering the level.

2. You have a small leak that is evaporating and you do not see it.

3. You have a small head gasket leak and are consuming it.

Keep a close watch on it. If you continually need to add, then find out why.

i checked it after driving for 20 mins and when cold. Not that much of difference. Still lower than usual.

thanks for the suggestions.
