though the searching i have done on here, it looks like in order for me took hook up a ps2 (to watch dvd's with....and play some games) upto my factory touchscreen unit.......i need two adapters?
one for the video, then one for the audio?
am i right about this.
so i would have to flip two switches one to get external video, then one to get external audio?
this is for a 2004 escalade
any help is appreciated......and what brands do you guys recommend........and if you are feeling really helpful....you could provide links :)
thanks in advance.

I just did this mod a couple of weeks back... I used the Pac-Audio unit to get 2 different audio signals.. one for the ipod and one for the PS2... I believe it was the GM24 unit i used... with this unit you do not flip a switch for power.. this unit taps power from the power wire that plugs into the radio and you also tap a ground so there is no switch necessary... the unit gives 2 aux inputs... i have the touchscreen unit and on mine i hit the cd button twice.. upon hitting it the second time you get sound from whatever unit is on.. so if you have the ps2 going it will play the sound from there.. if you have an ipod on it will play the ipod...
As far as video i used the NavTv unit.. i got it for like 215 shipped...install onthis was easy... simply crack open the nav unit and unplug one ribbon cable and then plug in the new one.. the only wires you have ot run on this is power and negative... the unit should not be on a switch... i put mine on a switch because i dont drive my truck that often.. the nav will not look right if the unit is not on... even if you are not watching a movie or anything on it the unit must be on for all colors to work... anyway.. the NavTv unit gives you 2 video inputs.. 1 turns on when you flick a switch.. the other in my truck turns on when the truck is thrown in reverse.. the second video source will turn on once 12volt power is given to a specific wire even if video 1 is playing...
sounds complicated but is very simple.. if you ahve any other questions feel free to ask...
Also the video comes in excellant.. my friend has a pioneer avic-n2 and the picture quality is almost identical..
Some Links:
Aux Inputs (Again I used the AAI-GM24):

NavTv:

I dont see any listed on Ebay anymore.. there used to be a bunch of them.. I will try contacting the person I bought it from and see fi they ahve anymore...
Here is a link to the PacAudio Video units... if you look at the GM units you just have to pick which nav looks like yours... the install is the same as the NavTv..
