Ron Jon's in awesome! I go there everytime I'm down at Cocoa Beach! Boombotz 07-02-06, 10:49 PM Well they said they are going to try again on Tuesday. Are you going back.....lol? I was wondering have you been here for when the shuttle returns. Depending on the way they enter back in it could damn near scare the hell out of you. It sounds like a car just crashed through the house. Never will forget the first time I heard it. Stoneage_Caddy 07-03-06, 12:24 AM yeah re entry is pretty damn cool , i think it was 3 sonic booms ....heard a few in my chilhood when these thing were young and so was i .....were now boath old and falling apart UNCLLUIE 07-03-06, 12:30 AM Good looking Caddy!
Does it do the sonic boom thing when it launches? I've heard it in Winter Park Fla (really just Orlando with a different zip code) when it comes back in and it is pretty wild. makes the house shake like someone hit it with a sledgehammer. HITMONEY 07-03-06, 12:43 AM They are going to try again on 4th of July... GOD FORBID something happens, it will forever ruin the 4th. I think they are AssClowns for taking that chance. Looks like they got the OK for the launch tomorrow, even though there is still a crack in the foam of the external fuel tank
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,201903,00.html "I know what you're thinking, were there six cracks in the foam or only five ? Well you've got to ask yourself a question, do you feel lucky ?"

http://www.coattails.net/upload/tyrone_biggums.jpg Perfect launch, the 4th of July is safe!
14,000mph, damn that's fast CoupeDevilleRob 07-04-06, 09:15 PM I've always wanted to hear a sonic boom. I saw the Concorde take off from JFK once, but it doesn't go supersonic until it's well away from the city. That thing is loud, as loud as any fighter aircraft I've ever heard. powerglide 07-05-06, 03:00 AM It just makes me proud watchin that thing take off!
Best fireworks ever! If you don't know about it or have it, get this DVD.
The Dream is Alive http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/64/51/55m.jpg http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089050/
It has a couple of close filmed (in IMAX) launches of the shuttle. With a good sound system and subs it will litterly make stuff fall off of the walls. :D |
