If you've never seen the US Navy Blue Angels perform, drive wherever you must to see them! They are absolutely awesome and inspiring! Makes you proud to be an American...I don't even mind paying taxes to support this kind of excellence.

As a member of the media, I had the great good fortune to fly in Angels #7 (a two seat version of the F-18 fighter) in 2000, an experience I'll never forget. And no, I did not puke.

That's really awesome, jets have always been one of the things that amaze me. I got to see an F-117A fly over at the chicago air and water show a couple of years ago, gave me goosebumps.

I've seen the Thunderbirds the last couple of years... also awesome.

They also have a new female pilot team member, who not only can fly, but she's cute.....

The Blue Angels were buzzing around Manhattan a few weeks ago during Fleet Week. They didn't put on a full blown air show, but it was still cool to see them in action. And of course, because people are dumb, 911 was getting swamped with calls about low flying planes over the city. You'd think people would be smart enough to distinguish a small military aircraft (and it's a well known fact when half the Atlantic fleet is in town) from a commercial airliner.

Best part of the Blue Angels is when they first come to town.. They do a practice show the day before the first show to check the local landmarks and get their "bearings" The practice show is free to the public and you can meet and greet the pilots. Even cooler is you typically get to stand within about 100 ft of the planes and crew during "run up" where they all march out together, board their planes/check the control surfaces then taxi. After the show you can get autographs, pix, etc. Verrrrrrrrrrryyy cool stuff.

My dad was in the air force.
I have seen air shows almost every year since I can remember and it makes me sick to think I might miss a chance to go to one.
I have seen just about every kind of plane the military has in flight and air shows have given me some of the greatest memories of my life.
I took my son to his first air show at Andrews about a month ago and he loved it, only he didn't like the jet fighters because he's not used to loud noises. I had hearing protection for him but he was tired and afraid.
Sadly we had to leave before the blue angels flew, but I did get to see a lot of them while we were driving back by the base to go home.

I used to go watch them by pier 39 every year in San Francisco, what a show that always turned out to be!
They had some nice static displays too this year. I got to see the X-35 and the F-22 nice and close.
Got a few good pictures.

My dad took me to a show about 6 years ago. I was really impressed with them. There isn't much more patriotic than them.

I have seen them in the past. Many years ago at a local air show. Absolutely amazing show.
