View Full Version : 22's Hold up order lordkevork 07-01-06, 03:18 PM The dealer just called me and told me I should change my order because there isn't just a slow up for the 22's now there is a stopage. I changed to the 18's and will have to get aftermarket wheels.. no big deal but has anyone else had to do this yet? slk230mb 07-01-06, 04:25 PM I think one of our members, hcvone, was/is faced with a similar problem. IIRC he was waiting 12 weeks for delivery of his 2007 with 22s. Did you also order the information package (nav?) There is a GM constraint on those two items together and there is, as far as I can tell, no ETA when the constraint will be lifted.
I myself have/had a similar issue, but my dealer ordered three ESV's: One with 22" wheels, one with the info package and a sold-order with my name on it that has both. GM has said they don't even have a date when they'll pull my sold-order for assembly... could be August or September. So, the dealer has generously offered to take the 22's off one they're getting in and putting them on the other one with the info package. Should be here in mid-July. :) lordkevork 07-02-06, 09:21 AM Yes. I ordered the info package too. NO-Way Your Dealer is full of it. He was keeping hem 22"s for his self. Sorry I sold the ones off my new 07 back to the Dealer for 1000 and the 18''s But I m the Afther Marky wheels man Hit me up 251-366-6750 I have put 24" and now 26" on mys. There is no hold on 22's or Nav at this time, and my long delivery was a GM mistake, and trust me they are taking care of the problem, that is all I can say. :) slk230mb 07-05-06, 08:22 AM There is no hold on 22's or Nav at this time, and my long delivery was a GM mistake, and trust me they are taking care of the problem, that is all I can say. :)
If you can't show us how they are taking care of the problem, how about pics of it? If you can't show us how they are taking care of the problem, how about pics of it?
Can't say anything yet, once the paperwork is done I will say something then. ;) lordkevork 07-05-06, 10:05 AM The latest news I was given is the factory is only building 15% with 22's and that my vehicle may not get built in 8weeks if i keep the 22's on the order. I'm saving 3k off the price and will use it to get aftermarket 22's. I did switch to 18's but if they arent being truthful why would they lie about this? Maybe to get it in 8 weeks is why they told you to switch, because I know for the last 3 weeks there has been no constraints on 22's, of course it depends on where your order is at that time if this effect your order or not. A dealership lie........could that happen. ;) There is no doubt you will get your truck faster without 22's on it, but it should take no longer if ordering today between the two. They probably have one coming into their inventory that doesnt have 22's and want you to take it. lordkevork 07-06-06, 03:24 PM Nah.. i sat there when he inputed the order. There is a restricted build status on 22's. I've spent most of the day on the phone to confirm. It doesn't mean they aren't building with 22's... just a slow down. I am keeping the order with the stock 18's so i can get it sooner. 05 Cadillac Escalade 07-06-06, 06:56 PM Nah.. i sat there when he inputed the order. There is a restricted build status on 22's. Why don't you just do aftermarket 22's or even 24's? I am sure you could get a pretty good deal, if not better on a set of aftermarket 22's. I would have rather ordered the 2007 with the 18's and then done some aftermarket 26's. Good luck.
Thanks. lordkevork 07-06-06, 07:18 PM Yup.. I am already ordering up :stirpot: some 22's, Headrest monitors, Supercharger. All i need is the vehicle :bouncy: 05 Cadillac Escalade 07-06-06, 07:20 PM Yup.. I am already ordering up :stirpot: some 22's, Headrest monitors, Supercharger. All i need is the vehicle :bouncy:
:worship: I am very jealous. This is going to be a rocket when it gets supercharged. What kind of 22's did you order?
Thanks. lordkevork 07-06-06, 07:55 PM I looked and looked and really didn't see many wheels i liked. I really didn't want something that stands out too much either. I didn't go ahead with the order yet but I think i'm going with the TIS 06. I figure i'll order sometime next week. I'm so anxious though. I'm very impatient 05 Cadillac Escalade 07-06-06, 08:36 PM I looked and looked and really didn't see many wheels i liked. I really didn't want something that stands out too much either. Are you sure you only want 22's? I know you have probably heard that a lot of people think 22's are too small, so I won't say it again. All I will say is that I have new 22's on my 2005 and I already think they are too small. Wish I went with 24's or even 26's. Are you only getting 22's to keep the weight down for the supercharger?
Thanks. lordkevork 07-06-06, 08:56 PM Weight has been an issue in my mind but i've been struggling with the 22 or 24 decision. Also I don't want to have any rubbing. My wife doesn't want to spend more money on wheels too. I guess she keeps me grounded since I seem to throw a lot of money at my vehicles and then only keep them 1 - 2 years, selling them in prime condition for someone else to enjoy. Hopefully I'll keep this one for a few years at least. 05 Cadillac Escalade 07-06-06, 11:01 PM Weight has been an issue in my mind but i've been struggling with the 22 or 24 decision. With 24" wheels, rubbing will not be an issue. With the bigger wheels comes a bigger price. I'm just giving my suggestion. I don't want you to get the 22's and then regret it and wish you had 24's. I sure do. Haha. I'm sure you will enjoy your 2007 either way. Good luck and let me know what you decide, but if you are still debating, I vote for the 24's.
Thanks. lordkevork 07-07-06, 05:55 AM Thanks. You definitly got me thinking! haha. :highfive: |
