I don't understand if it is bad luck or if it is because of my aftermarket rims, but I have been picking up nails galore with my Escalade on 22's. It's not like I'm driving in areas that have an abundance of nails either. I usually drive on main roads where it should be clear, but for some odd reason, I always end up picking up some nails. I have had nails in three out of my four tires. Two out of the three didn't pierce the tire, but one did. I only found this out because I took my Escalade to the dealership to get the tire pressure sensors checked out because one of the sensors was reading a very low pressure and when the service guy brought my truck back, he told me I had a nails in three tires and he removed one that was causing the sensor malfunction. That was the nail that pierced the tire and was slowly leaking. Has anybody else had problems like this and is there anything I can do? I have Toyo Proxes and I wonder if any other tire companies are better. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Toyo is one of the best tire companies in the business.
I wonder if someone is putting nails under or around your tires and you drive away and then you have problems, believe it or not I read about someone having this problem on the GM Truck Fourm some time back, turned out it was his ex wife doing it. :(

I don't really think someone is putting down nails just to give me a hard time. There is some construction on my street right now which could cause some, but the fact is that I found three nails in three separate tires. I understand that trucks are heavier making them more vulnerable to pick up debris, but three nails in three separate tires. I will keep my eye out to see if anyone is actually doing it, but I doubt it. You guys don't pick up nails with your aftermarket wheels?
Thanks.

Thats what I was thinking. How do you pick up 3 nails in 3 different tires, around the same time? Same nails? Same length? Good luck!!

I don't believe they are the same nails, but I am not sure. I think one was longer than the others, but I never looked closely. I haven't picked one up in a while and now that I am in NY for the summer, I can take a break from that. I will possibly continue this thread if it happens again when I get back down to FL. We'll see.
Thanks.

Stay away from the big home improvement parking lots.

I'd chalk it up to either bad luck or that construction project down the street. You'd think my wife has magnets for wheels on our van. I've plugged 3 out of the 4 tires on it, too, over the past 2 years.
