And of course Escalade EXT was chosen to be the best upscale truck. :highfive:

Cadillac's luxury pickup, the top pick in this category year after year, recently became even more upscale following an overhaul. From the outside, the EXT looks more sleek than it used to. But the most notable feature of the Escalade range's redesign is the exquisite interior--perhaps the most upscale American interior ever. The Escalade's cockpit feels more like that of an Audi than that of a typical Cadillac.

exactly, they are comparing american cars to german, admiting that the german vehicles are decades more advanced than cadillac or any other GM vehicle (gm = general monkey-poop)

I don't think so, I have had many german cars, but if I could afford a SUV at the moment I would definitely go for an Escalade

youd get it and give it right back. it is so problematic. 42 repairs in 2 years. 42 in total. every month i take it to the dealer for another 4-5 problems. the last time i took it the paperwork they gave me had to be given in a looseleaf cause of how many problems the vehicle had and the 16 pages of repairs they did.

I totally agree. American cars are years behind their competitors, whether it be German or Asian. The only fair comparision is if you compare it to another American model (ie. Navigator). It just does not compare with the Lexus's and Range Rovers. Fit, finish, gizmos, quality of materials used just does not add up. Personally, I think its the exterior looks of the Escalade that has made it so popular. I don't think it has anything to do with reliability, quality, or resale value. I know this maybe hard to swallow, since this is a Cadillac forum, but just look at all the posts we have on repairs, and the ever famous : "thats normal in these trucks" answer we get when we go in for these problems. I myself will never buy another Cadillac or American car. Gm has a lot of catching up to do, thats if they don't go under first. Just my 2 cents...

Think of it in terms of a luxury watch...

Rolex watches are popular, even though from a time-keeping standpoint, they are bad. They gain/loose 5 seconds per day, and after 4-5 years, need a complete overhaul (nature of mechanical movements). If you don't overhaul them, they start speeding up because the oil in the movement dries, and then it will speed up until the movement fails completely.

A Seiko with a quartz/battery powered movement keeps time to 1 second per year, and only need battery changes once in a while. They will almost last longer than the case itself.

No one aspire's to wear a Seiko... :stirpot:

what info do u have on omega watches?

OMEGA's have both types of movements. The more coveted are the mechanical movements of course, but they also have some quartz models, such as the popular "James Bond" Seamaster model. The same issues apply to mechanical movements overall, but I've had more constency from my OMEGA Seamaster chronograph, which has a movement made from another source. OMEGA buys movements from manufacturers for most all their watches, but decorates some parts in-house.

I've had the Mechanical Seamaster (James Bond version), a SpeedMaster, but sold it, and I have in my permanent collection the Seamaster chronograph, in titanium and rose gold.

My Collection is always changing, but here's a few...

Go check out some Frank Mueller's if you get a chance. These are top of the line watches. I have a Jacob & Co. watch which I like too, but it is a little flashy. The Frank Mueller's are incredible with the look and mechanics. Tell me what you think.

Thanks.

I'm in NY for the summer and I didn't take it with me. I will get you some pictures of the one I have. When I get back to Florida, I will get you some of my personal one as well. Unfortunately for Jacob, he might be in a little trouble with the law according to the NY post.

Thanks.

Yeah. I do have the 5 time zone. I love it, but you have to admit, it is very flashy. Here it is again. He recently made the front of the NY Post because he was involved some money laundering or something like that. I can't remember exactly.

Thanks.

I don't wear it too much, but on some occasions, when the Escalade is washed and the rims are all clean. Haha! :bling:

I'm actually pretty familiar with the Frank Muller's. I kind of like the "Crazy Hours" model, simply because of the unique way it's laid out. However, I'm not a fan of the barrel design cases, which FM's are all based on, not to mention the 5-6 figure price tags.

I also like the "Crazy Hours" watch. All the numbers are placed in different order (1 where the 4 is supposed to be, etc.). Looks pretty cool to me. I don't mind the figure that much. I actually think it looks good. Not too flashy either, which I personally like.

Thanks.

I have three Seiko chronographs and they're bullet-proof!! One of them is 15 yrs old and still works like a charm. I can't complain for $350 each!!

Really? I have never had a problem with mine, but that could be because I never wear it. Haha! It has been great, the few time I have worn it.

Thanks.
