Oversized CTS 06-20-06, 12:59 PM I dig it. Looks like they kept the same basic body lines of the current gen just updated the grille (headlights look to be simialr, but more angled in at the bottoms), and the tail lights look to have gotten a makeover. Hopefully the interior will recieve some refinement. I like the current gen one but it doesn't compare to other cars in its class. Maybe by the time the 3rd gen CTS comes out i'll be ready for a new one :D caddydr 06-20-06, 01:07 PM I like it!!! Can't barely wait!!! Rey Rey 650 06-20-06, 01:09 PM Thank God I didnt wait for that one.... RobertCTS 06-20-06, 01:14 PM The grill is enormous!! Only a Mother could like that beast. The paint sucks too:D Mbai2 06-20-06, 01:16 PM I think that grille is hot! Kael 06-20-06, 01:27 PM hmm oddd, same platform and i think all the body panels will bolt to the current car. there is a lot of camoflag and fake body cladding to keep the spy shots from meaning anything -K Oversized CTS 06-20-06, 01:28 PM The paint sucks too:D No love for the checkers? :alchi: FlyFlip420 06-20-06, 01:38 PM Wow what a great paintjob....Ive been thinking about addin that to my my ride as well....glad it looks sooo good, now I dont have to worry about looking foolish driving a checkerboard rugburn 06-20-06, 01:42 PM Wow what a great paintjob....Ive been thinking about addin that to my my ride as well....glad it looks sooo good, now I dont have to worry about looking foolish driving a checkerboard Taxi, TAXI !! RobertCTS 06-20-06, 01:46 PM Wow what a great paintjob....Ive been thinking about addin that to my my ride as well....glad it looks sooo good, now I dont have to worry about looking foolish driving a checkerboard No Flip..It's racy looking. Sorta like the finish line flag. http://usera.imagecave.com/BobsWork/checkered_flag.jpg Mbai2 you gotta be pullin' my leg!:D Jonny223 06-20-06, 01:53 PM Yep, that grill is awful. I am not sure about the headlights either. B0000rt 06-20-06, 01:58 PM The real kicker will be the interior Adam 06-20-06, 02:03 PM WOW that thing is f*ckin nice! cant wait im tradin in! PAW 47 06-20-06, 02:28 PM Hrmm.. I wonder if you can paint job with a V8? The rearend seems a bit higher too jteolis 06-20-06, 03:09 PM I know RobertCTS will say I'm doing my usual naysaying, but to me, unless it has a 2door or ragtop option, I don't see that much change/improvement. Its more like a restyling rather than a redesign, in my opinion. Is that car different or hot enough for me to get rid of my 05 LS? NOT based on what I've seen so far! Mark Grigoletto 06-20-06, 04:02 PM Kind of looks like the STS with more rounded off lines. bob the builder 06-20-06, 04:13 PM I wonder if there will be some refinements to the interior or if this will just be a small restyle? Devil_concours 06-20-06, 04:26 PM hopefully the interior is drastically improved and we get the direct fuel injected v6 with minimum output of 300hp tomm 06-20-06, 04:37 PM Did everyone forget the 60 minutes interview. I think the grill looks great. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a232/imghost79/caddy.jpg skepticman 06-20-06, 05:14 PM Discussion and more spy photos: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33019 SoCadillac 06-20-06, 05:28 PM You can make out the front end for what it will be...not bad, but the oversized grill just screams Lutz (squint your eyes and you can see Lutz's face in the grill) and his quest to harkened back the Cadillac glory days of yore. I prefer the subtly of the current grill size. The real mystery of the new exterior is the rear. The taillights are not the final design, but what else lurks under yonder trunk bar? The interior, from all the clues seen to date is better. What's under the hood in the way of engine upgrades? To me, the car's lower width has been increased? Is this to accommodate a larger drivetrain assembly for the CTS-V series so that GM can install a bigger differential, along with a larger drivetrain tunnel? Stay tuned... bdrex28 06-20-06, 05:37 PM Looks too much like a Nissan Altima. I like the current lines better. SoCadillac 06-20-06, 06:00 PM I don't know if others saw it, but the photographs on GMInsider are of two different CTS mules: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33019 Note the masking on the front ends, and front lighting, is applied a bit different. The mule in KGP Photography is different than the mule in WorldCarFans pics. dqw1 06-20-06, 06:45 PM This makes me think of the BLS for now. You might expect that on a car at a race track: "Cadillac engineers got a little wild on their latest trip to Germany’s Nürburgring race track" 2004CTS 06-20-06, 07:16 PM I really like it so far, but am reserving full judgement until seeing the final product. ILLMATIK 06-20-06, 08:14 PM Looks too much like a Nissan Altima. I like the current lines better. I agree. I love my CTS and im going to keep it forever and ever and ever:bouncy: SoCadillac 06-20-06, 08:22 PM Take a look at this shot of the interior of the 2007 SRX interior. This should be a derivative of the 2nd generation CTS interior. http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32793 70eldo 06-21-06, 07:02 AM Can't wait to see the final result!!! Looks promising! How does it look in any way like the BLS???? The grill looks great in that size! Now I am convinced the model in 60 minutes was the design of the new CTS, I might presume the interior they showed might also be the new interior for the new CTS. Than it is a complete improvement to the last CTS. jstowe 06-21-06, 09:11 AM Looks too much like a Nissan Altima. I like the current lines better. I agree that it looks like an Altima rear end (don't like) but do like the grill. However, I'll reserve judgement until I see the final product up close and personal or in a series of really good finished photos. 05CTS 06-21-06, 09:11 AM No love for the checkers? :alchi: :histeric:me either beaglecookie 06-21-06, 09:16 AM I'm with you jteolis, I happy with my CTS and not looking to trade it. Chuck C 06-21-06, 09:44 AM lovin it Kael 06-21-06, 09:52 AM they mention that the the BLS is going allwheeldrive and with its turbo... thats the car for me. looks good as its a cadillac (i like the srx and evo.. but its too much of a punk kids car) a nice bls would be hot. upgrade the turbo.. all wheel drive.. party on.. -K B0000rt 06-21-06, 10:23 AM You think Caddy will have a WRC entry with the BLS? :D :D :D Devil_concours 06-21-06, 10:26 AM You think Caddy will have a WRC entry with the BLS? :D :D :D unless they lose some weight, probably not jteolis 06-21-06, 12:56 PM Take a look at this shot of the interior of the 2007 SRX interior. Plus the interior on 60 minutes was radically different, this does not look like the 2008 CTS interior. Plus the interior on 60 minutes was radically different, this does not look like the 2008 CTS interior. The 60 Minutes show had a mockup that could have been used for virtually any model and if I recall Lutz adverted to GM improving the quality of their interiors as he showed the mockup. I can't see GM going to far off track from what is current as "refinement" is the name of the game in a lineage and the CTS marks the first in what should be an award-winning lineage for Cadillac if not the cornerstone of the Cadillac automobile lineup. Kael, You and I are probably the only two people who actually like the BLS. I bet if it were sold in America today, they would be short on stock as Audi and others have figured out that heavy feature laden vehicles of this size fetch a premium price as this is what owners want. America is just now catching on to the true meaning of "size matters" and it is not necessarily "large" as the CTS demonstrates this fact. Adam 06-24-06, 12:50 PM What I want to know is if it will have the option of a N*? probably not. N* is a V8 and the only V8 in a CTS is gonna be the V series. besides out of the V6 they'll be getting as much and more hp than the N*. | |
