I had my heat riser valve replaced on my 1987 Brougham 307 yesterday, and for some reason not thinking I put regular gas in it. To my surprise there is very little or no pinging in my engin now. Great news with the price of gas:thumbsup:
Pinging is back ,back to high test gas:rant2: .
307's are notorious for clogging the EGR stack tubes under the carb. Remove and clean and go back to enjoying 87 octane again.
I did my 307 years ago and I could not believe how much better it ran. It was a definate hp and driveability improvement, as well as being able to run 87 octane again...
Thanks ,I must give that a try:thumbsup:
