: How to keep the rubber hood seals on?

I need to refit the rubber hood seals back into position OFTEN. It's either the sides falling off or even the rear (near the windshield) falling off occasionally.

Anyone know if I can use some sort of "glue" to keep those fastened? Is there a reason not to glue 'em?

I had that problem on my V-6 CTS. Cured it with non-hardening Permatex gasket compound.

I had that problem on my V-6 CTS. Cured it with non-hardening Permatex gasket compound. Just a couple of dabs where it did want to grab tight to the metal edge. I suppose there's a special adhesive but the Permatex worked fine and I had it lying around, so what the heck.

Have you tried fast-tack trim adhesive made by 3M?

Thanks for the info....I'll take a look at both suggestions and try one out next chance I get.

The rubber trim falling off is really only a slight hassle as far as putting it back in place, but I'm a bit concerned about what goes on under the hood as I'm driving and that stuff is flapping around. (Especially the short passenger side trim piece.)
