I bought a Caprice transmission crossmember to install on my '79 SDV, but now just found out that it's too short! I thought they would fit the Devilles??? Has anyone tried this before? Any ideas on how to get a crossmember with two humps for dual exhaust?
Oh well, at least I replaced the original trans mount with an Energy Suspension mount. Looks good!

What year Caprice?

I'm not sure when the DeVille was switched from a "C" body to a "B" body (Caprice is "B" body) I know the Seville back then was Caprice-based so the DeVille might not yet have been on a Caprice chassis.

I know back in '70 the DeVille was a "C" body and according to my Fisher body manual for that year, only shares the chassis with a Olds 98 and Buick Electra. "B" body was the next trim line down from the "C" body and no Cadillacs rode on that chassis in 1970.

What trans? THM200, THM350, THM400?

Weren't the Cads all D bodies from 77-96 and the Caprice was 71-96 were B's?

It's a TH400 and the crossmember was from a '95 Caprice.

Anyone want to buy it....now that it won't fit a Deville? LOL!

Bump for more info.

I thought it was gospel that this would work, and have a NOS '96 crossmember ready to go for my 1979 deVille. Has anyone here made it work?

Caddydaddy,
Hi - does it have the 2 humps for dual exhaust? And do you think it will fit a '65 Buick Skylark frame - A body? If you can post pics and dimensions I can check since I have the Skylark frame out from under the car.
thanks, Nick

Sorry, I got rid of it over 2 years ago!

I still have a dual exhaust x-over for a 95 roadmaster. I bought it to put under my fwb, but the right side brace that holds it is in the wrong spot.

Kevin,
Interesting - I actually want it for my 65 Skylark - or my '65 deVille. I'd like t run dual exhausts on that too. Can you post a pic and give me the dimensions. You never know it may be made to fit!
thanks, regards, nick
