I have an 84 Biarritz Ht4100 with throttle body fuel injection.

It doesn't seem to feed enough fuel when the engine is cold. No matter what I do with the gas peddle it seems to run out of gas after a few seconds. The higher the RPM the faster it runs out. The closer it gets to operating temperature the longer the fuel lasts. Once it is up to temp it runs fine. It was minor at first and got worse and worse.

Has anyone had this problem, or know where to steer my mechanic?

If you can help, thanx.

Although i am only a novice, it sounds like it could be a bad fuel pressure regulator or maybe a clogged fuel filter.

Also i would advise you check the computer for codes and post the results.

Warlord has some valid points. Also computers in those early cars are pretty much useless when it comes to troubleshooting fuel delivery.

having said that, you should still pull the trouble codes to see if it has recorded something.
See http://ht4100.com for instructions.

It sounds like it might be the fuel pump, fuel press. regulator or some problem with the ECM (computer).

If the car runs fine when warm, I don't think it is a clogged fuel filter.

Might be the manifold air temperature sensor. It should show up as a trouble code.
