I was just looking in my owners manual for a bit of information and came across the VIN number explanation, page 310. The manual shows that the 4th & 5th characters "DW" indicate Brougham model. Well, I looked at the VIN on my "Plane Jane" '94 FTWD and it also has DW in the 4th & 5th VIN char. positions.
Ok, you spec and stat freaks, what's up with that? :hmm:
Check here http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/cfb.html#vin
btw every Fleetwood I've seen has a DW there. Unless it was a hearse they should all start with 1G6DW52

Yup - My recently acquired 95 starts out:
1G6DW52P7 and so on, if that's any help.

The "Quick Reference Specifications Guide" (GMP/95PGUIDE) I got from Helm lists the 4th and 5th digits as follows:
DW=FLEETWOOD/FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM
EL=ELDORADO
ET=ELDORADO TOURING COUPE
KD=DEVILLE
KF=CONCOURS
KS=SEVILLE(SLS)
KY=SEVILLE TOURING SEDAN(STS)
FH=COMMERCIAL CHASSIS - RWD 'D'
Hope that helps.

Hey thanks all. I'm not losing sleep over this. I was only puzzled by the owners manual indicating the "DW" was for a Brougham. Obviously, it is for both Fleetwood models.
