So my power window in my drivers side crapped out on me last week. Motor still works, but when it happened something fell to the bottom of the door panel. Well I finally got it all apart, and it's the remenants of a plastic pulley! No big deal I figure. I went to the dealer, oh wait, I have to get the entire power window assembly for $800!! All I need is a $0.20 peice of plastic.

Has anyone had to replace their window motor and still has this pulley? If so can I buy it from you?

What model and year is your car?

You might also want to try the junk yard. Many junkyards will pull specific items for you. Makes it easy. It's also very inexpensive.

if a junk yard can't sell it to you, take those parts to a metal shop and they can probably reproduce it. or make one out of wood! hell that might be better than plastic.

Sorry, it's a '98 STS.

And I will make it if I have to, but I will try all the junkyards around.

Its sad but true that most manufactures do this now... i.e. sell parts as complete "unserviceable" assemblies. On my car the memory on the driver mirror when out... just off warranty... The dealer only services the mirror as an unpainted unit... $600... plus $50 to have it painted...

SO...

I bought a different colored one off of E-Bay for $50; disassembled the motor unit... recovered and replaced the little sensor bit... looked like a $0.25 part... reassembled the mirror and viola I'm back in business... plus I have another sensor and two little motors in the attic if the passenger side goes...
