Just curious how many of you guys got rid of that On-Star Antenna on the rear glass?? I'm not signed up and don't really plan to in the future; I feel like I'm driving an 85 Stretched Towncar with that thing on the back!!!! I'm feeling a razor and some goo gone!!!! Suggestions?????

I took mine off and put it inside. You can't see it from the outside, but the Onstar still works perfectly. I also have the XM radio on the roof, so it sorta looks like an '05 :)

So the onstar antenna is on the inside of your rear window? Pics please. No reception issues?

I was going to keep mine, but then I went to go get my windows tinted. Once they took it off, I told them to keep it off. I didn't relize how much one little antenna could mess up the look of a car so easily.

My onstar is active, and my rear window is tinted. But I would love to get rid of the antenna on the outside of the glass.

I must be in the minority then, I don't mind the antenna or how it looks. For me, I tilt my downwards and it looks better to me at least.

I replaced mine with a much shorter antenna (2-1/2"). Looks much better IMO

So they removed the exterior portion of your antennae, to tint your windows? Not sure I'm following you.........??

Get rid of it. Use a cellphone . Its a hell of a lot cheaper than $15 a month on the off chance it gets used.

I'll get some pics soon. Yes, onstar is fine, everything works perfectly.

If you want to remove the antenna, just use some dental floss and it will come off after a few minutes. With the factory tint, you don't really notice the pickup on the inside of the rear glass.

I got into an accident last year and the Onstar didn't even work. The next day I ripped off that ugly f'in antenna and threw it away. Never looked back. So glad I did it. Just grab a heat gun/hair dryer, heat it up, and rip it off. Goo Gone/carefully razor blade the remaining adhesive.

My OnStar also works fine without the external antenna, I've tried it more than once.

did you remove it completely or relocate the antenna to the inside?

Had the dealer move mine, inside the rear fenderwell, O.S worked just fine, but I did not re-up after the first year.

The outside section is gone, the interior block is still there.

I had forgotten all about the antenna...but I shut off Onstar last month. Maybe time to remove it......

Ditto - plus OnStar electronics are disconnected.

Just yanked mine off for the second time (man that sounds bad) when the boulder blew through the window...and it will be staying off (along with On-star).
