Well, I detailed the car a long time ago, and I thought I posted pics up before, but I guess I never did. Well, here are some pics after days of intense labor. It was my first time on a black car, so I left some holograms. Next time I detail it, I will get them out. Here's my process:

-wash
-clay bar
-Poorboy's SSR 2.5 & Sonus Orange DAS pad with PC
-Sonus SFX 3 & Sonus Blue DAS pad with PC (I should of used the Green pad and SFX 2)
-Klasse All In One
-P21S

Basically, I could of corrected my hologram problems if I pushed the car out of the garage a few times to check on my progress, but I guess I was just too lazy to do so...the holograms were my punishment! Enjoy!

Well, I think that I know what a hologram is, but I can't figure out what it would mean with respect to a car wash. Can you explain that for me - maybe for others? Please pardon my ignorance!

Holograms are those shimmers of light that seem to expose themselves only if the light is hitting them at a precise angle. They are a form of super-fine scratches usually caused by the polisher not being completely perpendicular to the surface being polished. I posted these pictures on a detailing forum, and they said that they could be holograms, or they could be excessive paint sealant that was not wiped off completely. In the picture of the sun on the hood, the suspect "holograms" are those white/light grey lines in the picture, such as the one going from the sun down to the lower left portion of the picture.

Nicely done. :highfive:

I have a bunch of light scratches in my clear coat, but being platinum you have to be really looking close to notice. Maybe one day I'll try to polish them out.

Black is so unforgiving. Again, great job.

When I picked up my V it had those little "scrcatches" in the paint but I did not raise a fuss. Should I have?

What can fix this the best? The Clay bar?
