View Full Version : Speed limited at 106 on 2007 2007Mark 06-06-06, 08:12 AM Had a 350 mile trip this past weekend where I averaged 80+ for the entire stretch. 13MPH avg, 106 max speed, and lots of bugs.
When at 106, you can floor the car, but the car won't go to 107. Is there an easy way to get around this limiter? Reprogramming the computer will get rid of that, you can use a product like the Preditor, or something like LS1 Edit. I did that on my 03' '06 QuickSilver 06-06-06, 12:46 PM Yeah i had the same problem, i was once riding down the highway where i saw this black c4 , we kinda raced down the road and i was hapy as i was passing him by a small distance, then when my gauge reached 185 Km/hr (or close to that cant remember) the vette blew my ass and passed right by me as if i were standing still ! I've been wanting to remove it cuz of this ! It was fun though.
sorry for goin abit off topic, good luck with the limiter. They limit the speed of the truck because of the tires are usually speed rated less on trucks. Reprogramming the computer will get rid of that, you can use a product like the Preditor, or something like LS1 Edit. I did that on my 03'

Some people like to drive fast some people don't. Don't tell me you've never gone 100mph + ever in your life? I don't condone it all the time but it's good to know that your car can go faster than 106 if need be. ALLeyez187onME 06-07-06, 02:12 AM uhm that has to be wrong because i have hit 120 in mine, and its stock. that would be without the wheels on too im aware of the speedometer factor with bigger wheels on. unless my gauge was off, i was at 120, and quite honestly the sway on it is TERRIBLE, but if your just going straight down a road with no bumps it feels like your going 60. But i wouldnt reccomend doing that top speed stunt unless your lowered, the 07 is really high. I want to say 110 is the top end on my 03. And yeah, I've done it a few times when I needed to. I never considered reprograming the ecu to raise the top end because I don't think going faster than that (for me) in my 03 is wise.
Now if I had an 07 with the 400hp and some speed rated tires...:lildevil: :D 07slade 06-08-06, 03:42 PM wow! thats pathetic! I take alot of long trips on the highway, and I have ALWAYS been terrified of tractor trailers swaying into my lane or the wind catching them, they usually go 80 or 90 so I floor it to get past them, and if it only goes 106 thats not O.K...grrr Synergetic 06-08-06, 11:36 PM Besides stopping for gas, I kept a steady speed of 140 all the way down highway 5 in the BMW, right until I started to enter the hills before LA. Cut my seat time in half. In my Escalade, I won't touch the higher speeds unless I need to. hcvone made a good point about the tire speed ratings! I got too much to risk on my Escalade and not enough trust on 24" tires. 106 mph is not that bad, but I see crazy X5s and Cayennes doing 135mph here! I'm thinking of a '04 A8 so I could run 155 without too much problems :) | |
