my 89 seville 4.5L. the body is wearing out along with the interior.

Since the engine runs near perfect(the tranny is good too), I want to put it into a rear wheel drive. But my question is: does anybody know what tranny bolt pattern would fit, chevy - olds - buick, or does it have to be a caddy tranny?

There is supposed to be a conversion kit to mate a 4.5 liter into the RWD Cadillac models that used the 4.1 liter engines (anything pre-'85), but as for using the engine in a Chevy with a Chevy tranny, you can't really do that kind of swap unless you like living an expensive life.

Why don't you just see if you cant get the body back up to par? Is it really that bad?

Ok check out the damage: http://members.shaw.ca/heavyd10000/my89cad.html

and that does not include $1500 for the driver information/climate control unit.

 Gfuh?! How about $10 at the salvage yard?...

That's pretty annoying damage, but could be fixed if you're willing to put the sweat into it. You'd probably spend just as much on the other car anyway.

:bouncy: Actually I WAS just kidding...

In fact, I drove to Vegas (from Palm Springs) on my vacation and found everything I needed except for the hood ornament there at a 'Pick-a-Part'

(Rt fender, wide trim RT side to go around the turnsig, Rt side marker light,
Rt headlight assy -- with GOOD BULBS -- the under-light trim pieces)

and spent less than $120 for ALL of it!

All I need to is have the fender and trim pieces painted and I'll be ready to put them on!

Hope you have the same kind of luck! These fenders are CAKE to change out... especially compared to my 71 Eldo.... 500# of just fender! And you don't have to remove the bumper to do it!:bouncy:

The only burner is gonna be the driver's seat... but hey, that's life!
