Can someone explain, or point me in the right direction to find out, the differences betwen the LS1, LS6, LS7 and maybe all of the LS series engines?

The GM Media site has details on the LSx engines.

Folks:
In short LS7 = 7L/427cu 500+ HP, LS2 = 6L/368 400HP, LS6 = 57L/350 400HP, LS1 = 5.7L/350 350HP. All are aluminmum block/heads composite intake with steel cylinder sleeves.... While early LS1's(97-98) were pron to 'piston slap', most of the LS series are reliable and ready for modification chev small block successor....
