I own a 2000 cadillac catera and for starters, I need help finding where the oil filter is? I cant find it. If anyone can tell me where it is I would appreciate it.. Also I have a problem with the car loosing coolant.. alot of it but I cant find it leaking anywhere. I hope this is not something major. If anyone can give me some insight on this I would appreciate it also.. Thanks

Filter is located on the drivers side of the engine block righ under the exhaust manifold only accessible from under the car. Unlike the 97' and 98's, the 99+ used the canister type like that found on BMW's an most euro cars; not the conventional type. Just screw open the silver aluminum canister and replace the filter element. I initially did not know this as well and I was searching to no avail.

As for the coolant leak: check the heater control valve directly behind the plenum. I replaced mine about 3 weeks ago. Very common and luckily very cheap. I replaced mine in ~15 min.

can you tell me how to get to this heater control valve? I have no idea where it is or how to get to it?
