I was wondering at what speeds does the L37 shift, I know one happens at 35 mph because you can feel it. but I was wondering when the gears switch at what speeds do they switch?

Are you looking for every possible shift point, or just at WOT?

At WOT, the 1-2 occurs around 42mph and the 2-3 Shift occurs around 80mph. I haven't found a long, straightenough road to see where the 3-4 shift occurs, but something tells me it's probably around 120mph judging by the gap in speed between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear.

As for the other shift point, they're shown for 10, 20, and 50 TPS %

1-2 shift @ +/- 3mph- 8 / 18 / 37

........................%TPS- 10 / 25 / 50

2-3 shift @ +/- 3mph- 14 / 34 / 68

........................%TPS- 10 / 25 / 50

3-4 shift @ +/- 3mph- 23 / 55 / 112

........................%TPS- 10 / 25 / 50

VCC apply in Fourth Gear- 42mph

As I mentioned before, at WOT the values are higher, but the FSM doesn't list those values (I wonder why....)

cool thanks for the info. but what does %TPS mean and VCC? i'm trying to read the charts under non-WOT.

%TPS is the the amount of throttle opening that the Throttle Position Sensor is reading. In other words, a TPS reading of 10% means that the throttle plate is opened to 10% of of WOT (Wide open throttle). A reading of %25 would mean the throttle is open to 25% and so on and so forth. Depending on how much gas you give it, determines when the vehicle will shift. The more gas, the longer it will hold the shifts to make use of the added power.

VCC is your Viscous Converter Clutch.....or more simply put, your locking torque converter. 42mph, is the point at which the PCM commands the friction plate inside the converter to apply and lock it. It helps on gas mileage by providing a solid link between the engine and tranny like a traditional clutch, instead of the the slippage one normally sees from a torque converter.
