I was thinking of getting the volant cai, but the dealership said it would void my warranty. Are they full of crap? Someone said to take it off when I got it serviced. Would this be too much trouble? Any advice?

Would this be too much trouble? Any advice? Seems your dealer is being a Dick!! Technically GM says anything that increases HP or Torque will void the warranty, yet they license Corsa exhaust which does both. Most dealers like mine ignore it. Of course they won't warrant the Volant. B Hoth 05-29-06, 11:48 AM Welcome to the forum Wasp1.Roberts right, I've let my dealer know of all mods as I go and they have had no issue, other then they won't warranty the intake (the volant obviously) and the exhaust system. If any problems were to occur they would have to show that they were a direct result of them. This will not happen as their is a lot of R&D from both volant and the various exhaust companies making sure that their products work WITH our mechanical and electrical hardware and is emissions compliant. This is one reason at this point we are limited to the number of performance mod's that we have available to us. Our ECU is one of the toughest in the world to comply with and to date no one has figured a way to make it actually inhance the mod's that we are able to utilize. FastCTS 05-29-06, 11:58 AM My dealer installed both the Volant and the dual cat back systems. They (dealer) said/writing the systems are covered by their dealership as long as the car's warranty is in force. B Hoth 05-29-06, 01:13 PM There you go. Check to see what the dealer offers, maybe an alternative. jteolis 05-29-06, 01:15 PM If you make a mod and you expect the warranty to stay in effect then you need to talk to your service guy and GET IT IN WRITING, otherwise you could be SOL. RobertCTS 05-29-06, 01:40 PM I don't think you would ever get it writing. Hand shake at best.:yup: ChicagoCTS32 05-29-06, 02:39 PM Swapping the volant in and out is 30 minutes tops (after you've done it the first time to figure it out). If you're worried about it, swap in the stocker before you drop it off. tonkio 05-29-06, 07:10 PM Do you guys feel practical difference with the Volant CAI, like more power, sound, or something?
