View Full Version : What month was your car built in? I~LUV~Caddys8792 05-28-06, 02:18 AM Kinda fun to think about this, what month was your Cadillac built in?
Mine was built in April of 1992, same month I turned 5 years old.. I wonder what day it was built on...
The Roadmaster was built in April of 1995, same month I turned 8. My '97 SDV was built in April of '97. the '88 Caddy was built in August of '87 - must have been one of the 1st ones out of the gate. My 1972 Mustang was built in August of '71 90Brougham350 05-28-06, 10:00 AM My '90 was built in November of '89, one of the first as well! firstimecaddi 05-28-06, 12:58 PM well what a coincidence...only yesterday I was working in the door and I seen two dates in there...both were November '93...don't know if that is date of manufacture...but that is also the month of my birth. fleetwood76 05-28-06, 01:16 PM My Fleetwood -76 was manufactured in feb 1976
jolle slk230mb 05-28-06, 08:26 PM My 2002 Escalade was built in 2001, one of the very first ones delivered. My 77 was built in June (around June 19, if the stamp on the underside of the dash is to be believed). nboylie 05-28-06, 11:25 PM 90 was born on december 89 pimpin88 05-29-06, 12:17 PM my brougham was in march of 1988. its 3 months older than me Night Wolf 05-29-06, 12:31 PM '93 Coupe - November, 1992. gothicaleigh 05-29-06, 02:24 PM I was on the waiting list for the CTS when it was released. I had my 2003 in the spring of 2002.
There was nothing like it on the road at that time and it was worth every penny just to see people's reactions as it drove by. It had a presence that first year that few cars ever achieve.
Now even my e30 generates more of a response than the CTS... <sigh> :( CoupeDevilleRob 05-29-06, 05:32 PM My car was built in January 1983, about a year and a half before I was born. JimHare 05-30-06, 12:44 AM My Eldo was delivered to original owner on 9/11/01..... I~LUV~Caddys8792 05-30-06, 11:00 AM My Eldo was delivered to original owner on 9/11/01.....
Now THAT'S wierd! JimHare 05-30-06, 12:43 PM Now THAT'S wierd!
Not really. There must have been several hundred, if not thousands, of cars delivered to their owners on that day. It was a day just like any other from that point of view. If you think about it statistically, any one who took delivery of a car in 2001 had about a 1 chance in 200 of getting it on 9/11. That's not really all that high, considering the total number of cars delivered in 2001.
However, the odds go up if you alter the makeup of the population. The odds that someone on the Cadillac Forum has a car delivered on 9/11 are somewhat higher, since we're a relatively small group compared to all people who took ownership in 2001.
It's like birthdays - take a group of 32 people. You are GUARANTEED that at least two of them share a birthday DATE = like the 4th or the 16th or the 22nd. There are only so many days in the month.
Out of a group of 150 people, the odds are better than even that you'll find two who share the same date and month. Up the group to 366, and you're guaranteed to find two with the same date and month.
See how it works? Benzilla 05-30-06, 09:55 PM 1983 Coupe Deville: September 1982 that has to be one of the first one delivered.

The day it was sold, where it was sold and what work was done on it under warranty. When the factory warranty ends. Might even run you a carfax on it if you suspect it, pm with your vin# (after 1990 model & GM vehicle only) and your story. NOTE: Currently trying to get over 50 posts to reply to your pm's. GM has their own internal "carfax" that gives all of the above mentioned information. |
