: 2007 Cts-v

I was looking to pick up a 2006 CTS-V in Stealth Gray and learned my local dealer is only taking orders for 2007s right now.

The salesperson mentioned there are no changes for 2007 aside from some new color choices (Thunder Gray instead of Stealth Gray)

However, it looks like a 2007 would cost me about $4000 more than a 2006 because of:
- an extra charge for Thunder gray (+$995)
- the return of the gas guzzler charge (+$1300)
- no rebate incentive for the 2007 right now (+$1600)
:banghead:

Anyone know if there are any new features or changes on the 2007 model versus the 2006 that make this worthwhile? I'm thinking I should look around elsewhere for a 2006.

Also, anyone have any idea what kind of discount I can expect on this car (2007 or 2006)?

You could find a low mileage, pristine '04/'05 for a lot less $ ... if you didn't have your heart set on an '06/'07.

I agree!! you will take a 10,000. kick to the bag as soon as you drive an 07 off the lot!!
An 04/06 would be a much better investment for the same car.

I got my 06 for $45,700 plus I got about grand over book on my trade-in. The 06 has the LS2 which has noticeably more low end torque than the LS6 and a stronger differential and I heard the xm navtraffic only works on the later 05s and 06s. That made a difference for me living in Atlanta.

There's a 2006 Stealth Gray CTS-V on the lot in Santa Clara, CA.

ST. CLAIRE CADILLAC
3737 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SANTA CLARA, CA 95051-7395
Phone: ( 408 ) 244-1000
Fax: ( 408 ) 244-9135

2006 CTSV V-SERIES
Exterior: Stealth Gray Exterior
Interior: Light Gray Full Leather Seating
VIN: 1G6DN57U260196057

You can find what you're looking for; it may not be close by but you can have a new car shipped nearly anywhere for $1,000 (may be higher now due to fuel prices). The Cadillac.com site has a feature that allows you to search dealers inventories. I got lucky and found my light platnum '06 less than an hour from my house and got a very good deal on it as well.

Good luck!

There's also a dealer that frequents this board, I think they're in Ohio, that had a black on black 06 demo car with like 50 miles for around $42k. I would have bought from them but I had a trade-in which made it kind of difficult.

Ebay. I brought my '06 for $38,900. Perfect condition, (6,900 miles). Just have patience and you'll find one for a good price

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll start looking around.

It's amazing what a little bit of depreciation can do to the price.

06 CTS-V's are out there. If your looking for stealth grey, they are a little harder to come by.

Folks:
From what I understand there will be no significant changes from the 06 to 07 CTS-V model year. Hence I went for an 06 to avoid the potential Gas guzzler tax return and the loss of the rebate(mfg to dealer)...
I would persue either an 06 or go the LS6 route, or wait till this time next year when there will be a large rebate to clear the 07's prior to the re-bodied 08's....

Right now the manufacturer is offering a $3,000.00 rebate or 0% financing in the south-east. The invoice price is between 47,000 and 48,000 dollars so you should be able to pick up a new 2006 for about $45,000.00 to $46,000.00 or pay about $48,000.00 and get 0% financing for 5 years.

Yea 3000 off if you pay cash. But I have another 3000 in options so it would msrp out at 54k and with 3k off your still looking at 51k.

Mine was $47000 plus 0% financing about one month ago. List price was $53650. Dealers WILL bargain with you.

Thompson Cadillac in Raleigh, NC had two new 2005 CTS-Vs still on the lot. I traded in my 2004 CTS-V on a Black one. The Red one, with about 400 miles on it, is still there.

So, come on, someone give me an idea what I can realistically ask for my V.
