Anybody interested in seeing Cars? I read an article about it in Autoweek, looks like it should be pretty good. They incorporated a lot of car references that only car guys would get which is cool. The article has a picture of a story board with some of the characters, one looks like a 1970's Coupe deVille. I'd love to see a real picture of it and what kind of character it is. Those Pixar movies are usually pretty good, I'd lay out some money to see this.

Pixar is the best, especially now that they're out from under Disney's thumb. I'll probably have to take my wife to three or four chick flicks first, but I plan to see "Cars." It looks hilarious.

Yeah, looks like the perfect movie to take my 2 1/2 year old son. He is into cars big time for his age. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Yeah, I want to see it. Pixar movies are great, made for kids but there is alot of adult humor in it.

The theme song is sang by Rascal Flatts, thats cool too... here is the music video to that song, but it has alot of stuff from Cars in it...

I'm looking forward to it; I love Pixar movies and expect they'll do their usual great job.

Lots of cool details I've picked up from the Web site (http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/cars/) and trailers: several of the characters are based on actual cars, including a Hudson Hornet (a former race car voiced by Paul Newman), a '59 Impala lowrider (voiced by Cheech Marin) and a VW Bus (voiced by George Carlin). I also like how the main character is Lightning McQueen. Nice homage to the great Steve McQueen.

lol, the website is neat, you can read about the cars... the tow trucks engine is a "v-8 engine, 2bbl carb that runs on 6 or 7 cylinders" <---- lol, thats kinda neat that they mention that in there.

My gosh... they really did alot of reasearch with this stuff!

That Hudson, is named Doc Hudson.... they mention the "step down" chassis and the I6 twin H-power....

For the Jeep, the Willys MB, the enigne is a "4 cylinder go-devil".... well, the L-134 in those things WAS the Go-Devil.... thats cool.

Lightyear tires, lol...

the blue #43 car.... STP? Richard Petty? lol.

I wanted to take my four year old to see that but this morning she said she thought it was dumb! I've been giving her toy cars since she could hold them and now she betrays me like this?

Richard Petty is the voice of the number 43 Superbird look a like called "The King". Lighting McQueen actually isn't named after Steve McQueen but a guy from the production team who died while they were making the movie. But since Steve McQueen is one of the most popular car guys of all time everyone will associate the name with him. The Autoweek article went into how much research they did for the movie. The production team didn't want it to be full of technical errors like so many other car movies, thats why there is so much good info on the website, they really did their homework.

The 43 car was modeled off a Superbird that a Moparts member in Cal owns (without his knowledge or permission, the storage place he had it in while he was out of the country "allowed" it to be used). Just a little useless info you won't see elsewhere.
