I think this is official. Reed if you are good with this??
I got this from the person who took over for Maureen Bickford who set up our V on line chat some time ago.

Im sure GM isnt happy with the numbers but I am. This confirms what I originally heard in that less than 2500 '04s were made. Now that is exclusive territory!!:highfive:

Mr. Mogavero,
I replaced Maureen as the Marketing Analyst a few months ago. She
forwarded me your email and asked that I reply to your request. I can not
provide the 2006 numbers as of yet but will be able to when the sales
conclude later this year. Hope this helps fulfill your need.
MY 2004 CTS-V total = 2461, retail = 2454, fleet = 7.
MY 2005 CTS-V total = 3508, retail = 3483, fleet = 25

Joel S. Jensen | General Motors Corp. - Cadillac
Marketing Analyst | CTS - STS - DTS - XLR - V-Series

Mine's gonna be a collector car soon. I'm gonna restore it to factory stock and put it into a Barret-Jackson auction....someday. 'Til then I'll live with huge depreciation and increasing mods.

Wow, thought there were more made, not that I see them around. I'm really glad the number is low and want it to stay that way. Nothing like having a rare car. You see how many Mustangs, Vette's & BMW's are out there? For a Vette you pretty much need a Z06 to stand out these days.

Thanks lasstss! Much lower production numbers than I thought.
Maybe I should put a plate next to the GM Performance Division plate that says '1 of 2461 produced'. I believe I'll go out to the garage and give her another coat of Zaino. :)

You 05 & 06 guys are a dime a dozen compared to us chosen ones.Maybe we need a sub forum to keep the riprap out of our exclusive 04 V chats.Yea thats the ticket.

I have asked the same person to qualify the numbers to see if that includes Canada and export. If it does, very exclusive territory indeed!:highfive:

The difference is inventory change...which I doubt is more than 5% delta...seeing inventory was 0 at the start of the 04MY. Either way, we're in a much more exclusive club than I imagined.

I read earlier there were in the 9000 range total, in '04-'05.

This is even better, as far as exclusivity goes. Even being in the "dime-a-dozen" crowd, still gives alot of rarity to the car.

Now, for the other 5,905 to get the kit and I'm set!
LOL

Does this mean I'm even MORE rare b/c I have the KARSIII kit?

Thank you for the info. It would be asking a lot but could you get breakdown by color? I would put money that there were more platinum and black made the gray or red.

Great info!

Now, all we need is the LS-6 to become legendary (ala original Hemis and the original LS-6) and we'll have quite the rare car even in an historical sense.

Let's be sure to keep up the legend of LS-6 superiority!! :highfive:

New info.

These #'s are for the US only. I have asked for the total for export and canada.

Is there a way to tell by vin when your V was produced or what production # it is?

Basically, I may get the total numbers for the V. Joel at GM doesent have the time to research all of the V build nuances. I did ask him to throw in how many black and silver for 2004 as it might be simple to do . Going thru gm Archives for all years, colors, interiors etcetc would take some time I would imagine. I dont think Gm is paying him to find stuff for the public. We will have to settle for what he has time to offer. At least we will have the basics.

I would be curious to know the percentage of 04 V's totaled to date.Performance cars die young. The V with it's current value would seem to total rather easily.

yup  but :shhh: because the bean counters don't like it when I :burn: and put all my mods on an expense account. Now, about the weekend retreat I'm planning with a very good customer...hhmmm, what's her name again? Oh yeah, Maggie.:highfive:
