Amber be gone! Thanks Dubbed Stealth. Note: the FAQ directions might as well start with, "1. Put front end on jack stands and remove front wheels."

Gonna try to link to Yahoo picture posts... Sorry she's so dirty; there was a pretty good rainstorm here in SoCal yesterday.

EDIT: I give up... not being a "picture person" I have no experience publishing photos to the web, so I don't know why it's not working. So... here are some file attachments!

Really looks good, can you post a pic upclose of the lenses. Are you using the stock amber bulb or maybe the silverstar one. Definitly a more refined look.

Why did you have to remove the wheels? I did this mod on a WW lowered V, only on ramps and without removing the wheels. Wasn't hard at all.

BTW - You should remove those amber bulbs and MIST them with some hi-temp aluminum spray paint. Doesn't affect the brightness or color of the bulb when lit, but takes away the amber look when not lit. I tried the Silverstars and removed them. Didn't like the blue showing through the lens either - looked a little ricey, in my opinion.

That looks so good. Hey caddie, do this on the next Gen V's!

Does that mod just remove the amber color while the vehicle is not running? Does it still show amber color when the vehicle is started due to the DRL function?

Yes, if you choose to run the DRL's. I turned them off, so my DRL lenses are clear except when the turn signal is on.

What do you mean turn off the DRLs .Forgive my ignorance but I didn't think it was possible on 04-05 models.

I've sprayed some orange bulbs in the past. It works really well and looks awesome. If you spray only the top 1/2 of the bulb (as if you are looking along the length from the glass side) you mask most of the orange when the bulb is off but still retain most of the brightness when illuminated.

Much easier to do with the wheels removed, IMHO.

The amber bulb itself doesn't bother me; YMMV.

I disabled the DRLs a long time ago. They're only turn signals now...

I just received my lenses in the mail today and will be putting them on tomorrow. Any other tips/hints? Is there a write-up on the install anywhere? How long did it take you?

Did this the other day.... Definantly remove the wheels... The factory orange bulbs look great!! They add a slight "touch" of color. Don't get caught up in all the hype.. Your "V" looks great as is!! Good job.. :)

:confused::confused::confused::confused: I just got finished installing the STS-V foglights and it's not necessary at all to remove the wheels. I think it would have been a complete waste of time. There is plenty of room. For those of you who are debating on doing this mod, it is very simple and didn't take long at all.

The only problem I have now is whether I'm going to keep the white lights in the DRL or disable them and put the orange bulbs back in. :hmm:

I completely agree. Unless there is some difference between the underside of the '04's and the other years, the wheels don't need to come off.
