Anyone replaced a water pump on a Brougham, either 307 or SBC? Mine started the tiniest little leak today and as soon as she gives me any trouble, she's gone. I'm thinking about Edelbrock's long-neck SBC waterpump, it's not too much money, and I've heard good things. Anyone got an opinion or experience?
I Changed One 0n A Chevy 350. Pretty Straight Forward. Just Torque To Specs. I Havent Heard Anything In Regards To The Edelbrock Water Pump. Let Us Know How It Goes.
I used a reman one from AutoZone and it was straightforward. Critical issue was the torque and doing the bolts opposite to get an even seal. When the pump is off, however, you have the best opportunity for replacing the bypass hose. No need to bend, push, squeeze or anything else to weaken the rubber. Just slide on a new one that matches the length with 2 new clamps.
