I think someone took my recommendation seriously about waxing with a scotch brite pad. ;) Good work.

the angle of the motor looks a little bit off - too up and to the left. I guess that's what happens when you rub too hard. but it sure is shiny,though.

It is actually a composition of two shots taken from a tripod with no change to the camera settings. First shot was hood up. The second shot, with the hood down, is made partially transparent and overlayed on top of it. I agree the geometry isn't exactly what you would expect, but that is how the engine sits.

Thanks, it took quite some effort getting to that shine. For a while it looked as though it was washed with a brush.
