Ok I am having a little situation and need any info as t what might be causing this. About a week ago my Lade started doing some funny stuff. When I would stop at a stop light for more than 20 seconds the fuel gauge would drop all the way down to empty and the fuel light would come on, then when I hit the gas the light would go off and the gauge would go back to whatever amount of fuel I actually had. I took it in to the dealer and they tok care of it. Well the weird thing is now when I fill up the tank it will not let me go past 17.5 gallons, I have tried on three occasions and it always stops at that point. This is really annoying considering that I fill up very other day and now it is costing me about five gallons every time. Anyone ever heard of anything like this.

sounds like a faulty ground problem to me.I would pull out the gauge cluster and clean the contacts behind it.

Yes unfortunatly it is still happening. That is one thing I hate about my Cadillac dealership that I miss about lexus and mercedes, there are never any loaner cars avaliable and when they are they are usually pieces of crap!! At lexus i never made an appointment and there were always plenty of cars avaliable. If I try to get a loaner when I drop of my Escalade ihave to make an appointment two weeks in advance!!!! Does everyone else have this problem???

No, I usually get to pick from a couple of Caddys. Sometimes I get the EXT, Lade or a Deville. One time we took a SRX. It depends on what we feel like driving.

This is one of the main reasons I don't plan to keep mine ONE minute longer than the warranty period. Unless some f-ing P.o.s steals it before that. Don't get me wrong I really like my truck when it's not in for some pidley bullsh-t repair. I've had my truck for less than six months and it's been to the dealer (5) times, twice for major repairs. I read somewhere GM lost an ass load of revenue this past year. I wonder if it had anything to do with "Quality"???

there really is no problem, it happens when you go on hills tilted forward too. what happens is you stop too hard and the fuel guage that determines how much has is left, is on the back of the gas tank. meaning when your tilted forward or when you stop fast, your gas tank will show it is empty or lower than what it is. Vise versa when your going up a hill it will show you have more gas than you really do. if you dont believe me try it for your self hahaha. i talked to my local caddy dealer and thats what he told me. The only way to get out of that problem is to turn off your car and turn it back on, or drive for a few minutes at an even street level. Its a problem but not really that big of a deal if you know how much gas you really have.

I left my EXT at the dealership last night. I was surprised they offered me a 05 Hummer and 05 Escalade (regular not ext). I took the Caddy. They should be calling me later today to see what the problem was.

That doesnt really make sense because I have turned my car on and off at least 10o times since it first happend, and besides that would have nothing to do with the fuel tank filling up all of the way.

Thats awesome!!! What dealershp do you use? I have been using Allen Cadillac In Laguna Niguel the first time they gave me a 95 oldsmonbile with no AC!!!!!! I got so pissed I took it back and they gave me the managers CTS and now I just drop it off and have my assistant drive my around but it is a pain in tha ass and it shouldnt have to be like that. I love my lade but if there was anyway the lexus dealership would still service me I would go there in a heartbeat.
