They are ordering me a new 07 corvette as a replacement with the options of my choice as long as I don't go over the MSRP of my V ~$51,195. I want a bright red 07 C6 with Z51 performance package and polished rims.

Awesome!!! Now Joey, you'll have to explain the details "when the ink dries"...
...and I thought I got a good deal!!!

-Even small pebbles can start a mountainous avalanche-

Funny thing, having dinner with my family and friends tonight...it was decided that the V is like a gateway drug:
-get a V
-get addicted to LS6
-have many problems with the V
-lemon the V
-get a Vette

Good job, Joey, good job.

Good for you Joey.

Since there have been a few of you opt out via lemon law I've been driving my V that much harder - and she's better than ever. Sure, there are little things like broken a/c vent...mild leak on the diff...but christ this car is fast.

Enjoy the vette, that is a nice ride.

Would they let you pay the difference for a Z06 - that is, if you wanted that option? Hmmm...

Congrats Joey!

And that's what I would do, pay the difference and get the Z06.

Congrats Joey!

Ace,

I'm with you. The V is a gateway drug pure and simple... My next ride will be a Z06.

I have permission from the wife for a Z06 - but can't justify taking a chance on something from GM again....or can I :sneaky:

I'm also in the process of getting rid of the V since I found a dealer that is going to give me 32-33k which they agreed to give me then the next day I get a call to get the car apraised again by someone else saying the v is a soft vehicle when it comes to resale. Why give the apraisal and get me excited then they pull this shit.

Yes I can pay the difference for the Z06. In either case I may sell it as soon as I get it. Would I make more on the Z06? If I got a C6 Z51 for equal trade at $51,195 I may be able to sell it right away for $44k. I bought my V for $40K so I would make $4K. If I got a Z06 I would pay about $14k more than the 51K. If I sold the Z05 for 60 then I would make 60 - (40 + 14) = 6K.

So maybe it would be a good idea to get the Z06. Maybe I would make more money if I went that route.

Joey, take the z06 for 65, sell for 75...easy

BUT! buy it out of state, tell the dealer you will register it in another state.

This way you don't have to pay tax which is going to take from your profit.

You pocket 10, you buy a NEW z51 for 43-45.

You just made the 5 grand + have a new car...

BTW if you lemoned don't they have to pay you acquisition costs meaning the 2000+ you paid in taxes initially?

Ok I helped out now PM me how the hell you got the buy back :)

Damn wait that nets you not 10 but 40+13 over (52 acquisition Z06 is 13 more) = 53 invested sell at 75 that 22 grand?

Damnit do it!

Tax here in SC is capped at $300 bucks. Tax is no worry here in SC.

The only problem would be actually getting your hands on a Z06 for sticker without waiting for a year or longer. Good luck whichever way it goes.

I'm going to try to get a Z06...we'll see! What options should I get if I go for the Z06? If I do this it will be for investment purposes only so I only want the options that will help it sale better, like nice rims.

Get a Z06. Drive it, never look back. Buy a $1000 beater for bad conditions.

That's what I'd do. But I also live by the philisophy once given to me from another car buddy...

You will certainly regret tasting the power/handling/ect and then selling it...trust me,

"You Can Take My Maggied Z06 When You Pry It From My Cold Dead Fingers"-ace

Just take the C6 Z51 and go to a track day. Then you can decide on what you want to do.

Soon, when my and Joey's ink dries from our "repurchase" experiences, there will be a sharing of knowledge for those that need it.

I can't believe I quoted myself...:tisk:
