To all those who wants a VOLANT COLD AIR INTAKE for their STS. VOLANT is going to produce the cold air intake for the 05/06 STS's, V-8 AND V-6. the molds are ready and several distributors already are listing the VOLANT intakes with part numbers.
Tony and Joe, who are with VOLANT, both state each time I call them that, the intakes will be produced in approx. 30 days. I call VOLANT every 30 days and I am advised the same, the intake will be realeased in 30 days. I will contact them again today 08/04/06, when they open and will advise you of another release date. Don't give up, I haven't.

Well I called Volant and was unable to talk to Tony or Joe but I did talk to a person in their new products division and he advised me that they are scheduling 20 new different cold air intakes for assorted vehicles and that the 05/06 STS"s intakes have been given "priority" and will be the first one's produced. they will be made soon, he could not give me an approximate date but stated possibly in a week or two. I hope this is true and not another let down. I think the wait will be worth it.

Any idea on how much HP they make? I would like to see some track times.

It will be interesting to see what kind of HP figures they will make. The Northstar V8's want to breathe, but are very restrictive. We are finishing up production of our STS V-Series intake in which we have already made 18 whp and 17 ft lbs. That was done without our ECU upgrade!!!
Thank you,

Suggest checking out the CTS owners forum re Cold Air Intakes - especially "The Great Intake Challenge" thread pp17 date ~10/20/05 (only relates to the V6 - no N*V8 data discussed); but dyno charts were posted with hp & torque curves shown. I saved them for reference and I will try to attach them to this post if I can.
Thanks to all of the CTS guys that made these possible.
I would be interested in viewing similar charts for the N*V8 if anyone has any such charts.
