I think they mean if you do it yourself. In which case you could do a basic cam swap for $700. Add a dyno tune for $400 and its not a bad deal.

I'll take a 92 hp cam! Where do I get one?

That is the way to do it!:)

Even though this girl Maggie may get you some more power a heads cam package make the CTS-V sound BADASS.

I love the LS6

But I heard the LS2 breaths better and is more modification friendly than the LS6. 92 HP from a Cam?

YIPEE!

No surprise, its a bigger motor. 3.90 bore vs 4.0". 10.5:1 CR vs 10.9:1.
It has been said that the stock manifolds are 1/3 lighter and flow better. It would be interesting to know if the 2006 CTS-V has a different part number for the cast manifolds.

With the extra cash I would save buying a trail blazer SS instead of a jeep SRT-8 , I could throw this setup on it tow 7000 lb and smoke the jeep for less money.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I don't buy the 92 hp with just a cam. That would have to be one seriously big cam. I'm sure that came with an intake and exhaust as well and they are comparing that to a completely stock car.

I want to see dyno sheets and numbers!!! :) Cuz ya know, if it smells like bullshit, it probably is. ;)

Wow! 98 HP from the cam alone? And just 20 additional HP from ported heads. Why bother with the heads? Dealer probably wouldn't even catch a cam swap vs. new heads. The fact that they were able to get that HP increase with just a cam speaks volumes about the stock heads. :thumbsup:

I have that GM Performance magazine in my bathroom...true story about the cam. The dyno was done at the flywheel.

With that BIG cam I'm thinking that car has to idles like stock. It's a Cadillac PEAPLE not a NHRA FUNNY CAR
