So i took advantage and took a mini vacation with my girl and while i was down there i met with danny and picked them up. B Hoth 05-15-06, 12:34 AM I hope I have similar luck. Guess I should post on the V site, for here or shipped at a resonable price. RobertCTS 05-15-06, 04:55 AM I hope I have similar luck. If you would have waited a week till memorial day weekend we could have met up and cruised Oceans together. rnwendy23 05-15-06, 10:23 AM I pick up mine today!! WHOO HOO!! Then I'll just have to get them installed. RobertCTS 05-15-06, 10:35 AM I pick up mine today!! WHOO HOO!! Then I'll just have to get them installed. Where did you find them Wendy? How much? Got a husband or friend to help you install? I recommend a front alignment afterwards. You will have to change "Stock for now" rnwendy23 05-15-06, 11:17 AM Where did you find them Wendy? How much? You will have to change "Stock for now" ChicagoCTS hooked me up with someone in DC (which is close to me), he wants $100. Now I can't pick them up until Friday, but thats OK cause I wasn't planning on getting them installed till next week anyway. I was just gonna call around to see who would install them, cause I don't know of anyone that has ramps or who could help me. So I should get a front end alignment afterwards, OK good to know. I wonder if the dealership I go to would install them since they are off of another Caillac. HMM, I need to call them. I need to change the stock for now anyway, cause I have a V-grille, tint and I 'm just waiting for my husband to install my new pedals from Autonation. I'm on a roll, but boy is it ever hard to keep up with everything. Oh yeah and one more thing, I changed over to synthetic oil. rnwendy23 05-15-06, 11:20 AM Where did you find them Wendy? How much? Keep me posted on what it cost for a professional install, until i mod my garage to have a lift i am in the same boat. I know u should not do this with your car on ramps or jacks, but can you? is it safe for me or my car? Jack stands can be used but front alignment is reccommended. This is not a tough job for a DIY Guy. DKNYCTS 05-15-06, 01:49 PM i installed my over the weekend... WOWWOWOWOW ...what a big difference. I got mine from a V forum member. He was a good guy - only paid $80. and he lives right by me. Do i need to do an alignment after the install? ChicagoCTS32 05-15-06, 01:57 PM You don't NEED an alignment, but it can't hurt. If you use jack stands and take off the tires it puts the suspension in a "compromised" position. If you drive it afterwards and everything feels fine, like mine and a number of other people, the alignment isn't necessary. My steering column moved a 1/4" after the swap. You could not feel it but you could see the shaft had moved when I installed my headers. I would would pay for the alignment for peace of mind. DKNYCTS 05-15-06, 02:52 PM got it...will do... rnwendy23 05-15-06, 03:32 PM i installed my over the weekend... WOWWOWOWOW ...what a big difference. I got mine from a V forum member. Just curious if it's worth the headache :thepan: or better to pay someone to do it. :bouncy: ChicagoCTS32 05-15-06, 03:50 PM If you've got a jack and 2 jack stands, it's not hard. Took about 3 hours, but I also rotated my tires, so that took some extra time. DKNYCTS 05-15-06, 04:09 PM i paid $80 to a local shop to do it... dunno if that was too much... Who might that be? :sneaky: TripleOught 05-15-06, 05:38 PM i wouldn't pay...but thats me. it's like a 2 hr job and that should include taking the tires off and jacking up the car (35-40%) of the work. rnwendy23 05-15-06, 06:07 PM The problem I'm having is I have no jack stands or anything of the sort other then the jack that comes with the car. So I guess I'm SOL!!!! TripleOught 05-15-06, 06:33 PM being from detroit, i suppose the first solution i have is suggesting a cinder block. seems to work well for the ghetto boys... RobertCTS 05-15-06, 06:36 PM Who might that be? :sneaky: Hmmm...two NY addresses. I bet I can guess!!:bouncy: estrivera 05-17-06, 05:15 PM My V sways are finaly installed. Man what a diff. strongly recomended for those with the base suspension. estrivera 05-17-06, 07:53 PM By the way the install went fine. The car runs fine. I don't see the need to have the wheels aligned. At least not in my case. Can't wait for my Volant to arrive. B Hoth 05-17-06, 08:44 PM Drove a 06 CTS with the 2.8 today, you'll definitley appreciate the volant. It felt like slo-mo compared to my 3.6. Had to have my water pump replaced at 37K  ! | |
