Finally got my V sways i'll be usisng the write up to install them either tomorrow or tuesday. I'll give my input after the switch.:bouncy: :highfive:

The guy lived in Miami. So i took advantage and took a mini vacation with my girl and while i was down there i met with danny and picked them up.

As I recall, the freight was about $20..so get'em ordered Hoth

Where did you find them Wendy? How much? Got a husband or friend to help you install? I recommend a front alignment afterwards.

ChicagoCTS hooked me up with someone in DC (which is close to me), he wants $100. Now I can't pick them up until Friday, but thats OK cause I wasn't planning on getting them installed till next week anyway. I was just gonna call around to see who would install them, cause I don't know of anyone that has ramps or who could help me. So I should get a front end alignment afterwards, OK good to know. I wonder if the dealership I go to would install them since they are off of another Caillac. HMM, I need to call them.
I need to change the stock for now anyway, cause I have a V-grille, tint and I 'm just waiting for my husband to install my new pedals from Autonation. I'm on a roll, but boy is it ever hard to keep up with everything. Oh yeah and one more thing, I changed over to synthetic oil.

Keep me posted on what it cost for a professional install, until i mod my garage to have a lift i am in the same boat. I know u should not do this with your car on ramps or jacks, but can you? is it safe for me or my car?

Ramps are the same as a lift for this. Jack stands can be used but front alignment is reccommended.

This is not a tough job for a DIY Guy.

You don't NEED an alignment, but it can't hurt. If you use jack stands and take off the tires it puts the suspension in a "compromised" position. If you drive it afterwards and everything feels fine, like mine and a number of other people, the alignment isn't necessary.

I'm going by the wisdom of Pete Raimondi at CMS and my own experience.
My steering column moved a 1/4" after the swap. You could not feel it but you could see the shaft had moved when I installed my headers.

I would would pay for the alignment for peace of mind.

Was it hard to install? How much trouble did you run into? Just curious if it's worth the headache :thepan: or better to pay someone to do it. :bouncy:

If you've got a jack and 2 jack stands, it's not hard. Took about 3 hours, but I also rotated my tires, so that took some extra time.

i paid $80 to a local shop to do it...

i wouldn't pay...but thats me. it's like a 2 hr job and that should include taking the tires off and jacking up the car (35-40%) of the work.

The problem I'm having is I have no jack stands or anything of the sort other then the jack that comes with the car. So I guess I'm SOL!!!!

being from detroit, i suppose the first solution i have is suggesting a cinder block. seems to work well for the ghetto boys...

My V sways are finaly installed. Man what a diff. strongly recomended for those with the base suspension.

By the way the install went fine. The car runs fine. I don't see the need to have the wheels aligned. At least not in my case. Can't wait for my Volant to arrive.

Drove a 06 CTS with the 2.8 today, you'll definitley appreciate the volant. It felt like slo-mo compared to my 3.6. Had to have my water pump replaced at 37K :eek: !
