Cadillac Touring Sedan???
| View Full Version : What does CTS stand for...? Platinum06 05-14-06, 10:00 PM :burn: Cadillac Touring Sedan??? kali_cts03 05-14-06, 10:01 PM Cartera Touring Sport :hmm: skepticman 05-14-06, 10:28 PM You're both wrong. It stands for C-series touring sedan. Google for that phrase if you aren't convinced. Platinum06 05-14-06, 10:30 PM I beleive ya....works for me. ChicagoCTS32 05-14-06, 10:32 PM It has been theorized that CTS was catera touring sedan, STS seville touring sedan, DTS deville touring sedan. but they just switched it to the alphabet soup and dropped the names. kali_cts03 05-14-06, 10:34 PM It just looked right since the DTS and STS are from the DeVille and Saville...... and I though someone said that once somewhere so I just went with it.... jteolis 05-14-06, 10:50 PM Despite what Cadillac and others WANT to think its obvious that the "C" stands for Catera. E for Eldo D for DeVille S for Seville kali_cts03 05-14-06, 10:52 PM or it could be one of these: http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/CTS :nyanya: In fact if you see in the list it says CTS "Catera Touring Sedan", who's wrong now.... :histeric: :lildevil: 050505songray 05-14-06, 10:55 PM or it could be one of these: http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/CTS :nyanya: lol  ChicagoCTS32 05-14-06, 11:11 PM If you ask Cadillac they will tell you that it is C-Class/Series Touring Sedan They're probably right... c5 rv 05-15-06, 12:38 AM It was orginally Catera Touring Sedan, but Cadillac was changing over to the letter-only names for cars as the Catera was being poorly received. Cadillac claims it only means CTS. If you change out your grille, turn it over and read the fine print embossed on the back. My 04 CTS grille says Catera. 70eldo 05-15-06, 04:03 AM It was orginally Catera Touring Sedan, but Cadillac was changing over to the letter-only names for cars as the Catera was being poorly received. I agree  kali_cts03 05-15-06, 04:06 AM lol  20 spaces down - CTS description says Catera Touring Sadan!!! Caddy Man 05-15-06, 09:37 AM Its funny how peopel think just because cadillac said it means its true. But just think...of course they dont want any reminder of catera in the new CTS. Kinda a coincidence that catera and cts both start with 'c' isnt it? And lets see...the Seville has changed to STS, and the Deville has changed to DTS...so anyone with half a brain can figure Catera changed into CTS. I mean who really cares...the CTS is a great car and even if its a newer catera, its completly redesigned so even to me it does not matter. By the way, ive heard that when taking parts off the CTS, some are stamped 'catera' on the insides. I think thats proof enough for me. Who cares what Cadillac says...they have motive to say it does not stand for CTS. TagApl4 05-15-06, 09:52 AM :yeah: Its like when ValueJet became AirTran after they blew up that plane over Florida. A lil name change and everyone forgets your mistakes. BishopRuger 05-15-06, 10:16 AM Well the way I like to look at it is this, the 03 CTS was the Catera replacement and honestly could be called the Catera-Touring sedan. The 3.2L is a remodded Catera engine lets not forget. But the 04's and up have a totally new engine so imo at that point it stopped being a catera touring sedan and starting being the C-series Touring sedan. ChicagoCTS32 05-15-06, 10:31 AM What you're all failing to grasp is the fact that CADILLAC names the cars, not YOU. What we say doesn't matter to them. Sure, it was GOING TO BE Catera Touring Sedan, but it is NOT. 050505songray 05-15-06, 10:37 AM not to be an ass, but who really gives a f*** lol either way we all still got a CTS whether it mean catera , c series, or whatever , ,,, u guys sound like u gonna rip each others throats out ,,,,,,,,,, how bout we talk about how hot my CTS is lol http://www.cardomain.com/id/PushinTheLac ChicagoCTS32 05-15-06, 10:38 AM You've got it all wrong Ray... each and every one of us IS THE SMARTEST PERSON ON THIS BOARD AND EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG!!!! BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! BCCADILLAC 05-15-06, 12:49 PM maybe it's Cimmeron touring sedan.................I crack myself up....... ctsvett 05-15-06, 02:27 PM do a search this has been debated MANY times... Reed 71sx 05-16-06, 09:52 AM How about: Compact Touring Sedan Standard Touring Sedan Deluxe Touring Sedan Or not ;) Chuck C 05-16-06, 10:46 AM Caddy That Sizzles xcorpion1969 05-16-06, 11:00 AM its name has everyone wondering, is it a Catera or a C-series....well actually scratch all those names, for naming the CTS it comes from the thought of the Cien, and therefore since Cadillac iintroduced its first in 1902/1903. 100 years later the Centennial Touring Sedan was born, the CTS. The Catera was just a step mom :highfive: http://100megsfree4.com/cadillac/ c5 rv 05-16-06, 12:07 PM Caddy That Sizzles At least it's no longer the Caddy That Zigs. That was a silly campaign. | |
