I'm thinking about painting my calipers, with the Duplicolor kit. I have a Black cts inside and out.
What color caliper do you suggest ? and the wheels are polished cadillac 17's. This is more of a poll question

Black would compliment the look. Red would give it the performance caliper look. RobertCTS has good pics of his painted black and I believe he also has painted or decaled a written logo on them. Very good look. How much do you want them noticed?

yeah i want to do this to mine but i have an 05 redline.... and the red wont match to tacky, white or silver will be to hard to keep clean, and black wont stand out enough to be worth i effort i think, so im stumped

The silver should look great. maybe there is a high gloss clear that can be sprayed on top to keep the color looking clean.

If you want it to last use G2 two part Epoxy Caliper paint. Do it right. I'm partial to black calipers and silver VHT decals. Don't use aerosol!

Rich, I have a Black\black CTS, and struggled with the same question. I went with the black caliper paint vs. the silver or red, and am really glad that I did. It looks classy and low key (meaning it does not take attention away from the rest of the car). Use the brush kit, it is quick and easy.

You can see with Roberts pic's that the rotor adds to the look as well. Ithink this is the best that I've seen so far that won't break the bank.

Of course I agree. You want it to be seen and have class but yet not pop on you. I've seen some red ones and yellow ones that take it to far.

My CTS is black/tan and I painted the calipers red. Second choice was silver and third was black. Like the look, but would probably do them silver if I had to do it all over again.

Nice Shine! Zaino? Now you need some crossdrilled/slotted rotors to back up those calipers.:yup:

Piece of cake Joey. The kit has a cleaner, brush and 2 part epoxy paint. I recommend only mixing 1/2 the paint since it sets up so fast. I did 2 calipers one night and the other 2 the next night. That's an excuse for 2 beers:thumbsup:

No you don't Joey and I didn't. You will need to jack the car up on jack stands though. You can do it.

Agree - not necessary to remove the calipers. However, I did unbolt and secure them so I could get to all the areas needing paint coverage. Did all four at once and let them dry overnight, partly becuase I have enough jacks and stands to get the entire car off the ground.

Thanks. I washed it just before taking this pic, but no zaino (or other waxes).

Keep in mind I'm slower than you. I have all the necessary equipment but I pace myself with a few Budweisers. With that said and the dry time of epoxy paint I suggest 2 days.:bouncy:
But that's cool if you can do it in one evening and by-pass the refreshments:)

I used the Folia Tec caliper paint kit. It worked out great. Here are the results:

My first thought would be an Auto Body Shop. They can mix any color. Hopefully they can do Epoxy paints. If not use VHT paint. Did you see my post on the self DIY paint sprayer?

LOL - Beer was definitely involved with mine too, and I used the DupliColor kit that only recommended several hours drying time. Overnight was more than it recommended (wanted to play it safe). I'm thorough but don't mess around - like to see progress and results.

I've got to get you guy's up with the trends. For speed you need to mix Three Olives grape vodka and Red Bull, it's called a G-spot or G-bomb. Guarenteed to move you at light speed on projects. :alchi: Tastes light a Grape Nehi.
