I have been reading many posts in this forum since i got my 04 EXT (about 6 months ago) I have read many very heart wrenching stories of people who's pride and joy was taken from in front of their house or outside a movie theater or when they walked in a convenience store for five minutes. I have read about elaborate alarm systems with every security feature known to man but ONE. Probably the simplest and if wired correctly and the most efficient at stopping some P.O.S from driving off with your vehicle. A fuel pump kill switch. Obviously if they come with a tow truck there's not a whole lot that will save you from making that dreded call to your insurance co. But most of the nickel and dime car thieves don't have a tow truck at their disposal. we all have to use common sense by watching where we park and beware of potential for theft in our surroundings. But somthing as simple as this ,should be the first aftermarket accessory you have installed on your new truck or car. It took me about an hour to wire mine in as I wanted to make the wiring look as close to factory original as possible. I ran two switches in series ,if the crooks happen to find the first one they will be very lucky to find the second. I ran it to the coil side of the relay which runs at a very low amp draw as not to overload the switches. The whole kit cost me maybe $3.00. I believe it will keep my truck, mine!!!

Can you give us a quick rundown on what/were you bought parts? How to run wires?

Will show some pics of the underhood connection the rest is up to you as to where you want to mount the switches inside the cabin. My digital camera is at home so i'll post the pics when I get home. Just to simplify for those of you who almost get it. inside the engine compartment there's a main fuse box.Insde that are fuses and relays, one marked FL/pmp. With ignition off pull that relay. On the bottom you'll notice numbers 85 and 86 diagnally opposite from 87 and 30. 87-30 are the relay side and 85-86 are the coil side.specifically 86 is the best place to cut and tie in,not 85 as it shares a common ground on the board. connect an ohm meter (set to continuity) on top where the relay came out relative to pin 86 and find it's mate on the bottom of the fuse panel.Mine was a green/white wire.cut that wire and loop it through the switches. The amps going through that wire are very low.I got switches that can handle at least 3 amps. you should get the smallest switches possible as you wouldn't want them to be seen.I would put them in them in a hidden yet convenient enough place where you won't forget to activate it every time you exit.

will do, i will show a pic of the underside of the main fuse panel attachment.I think that the trickiest part.I found the small gommet to the right of the large harness though wall is the best place to go through the firewall. I'm sorry I won't post pics of where i placed the switch inside the cabin as I'm now too paranoid. But switch location is at you discretion anyway.
