: Brembo's vs. CHP

I was on the freeway the other day in the fast lane doing about 10% over just moving along with the traffic. I saw a car stopped in the median with a lady standing behind the car. Just as I was about up to her I was passing an 18-wheeler that was in the number 2 lane, when all of a sudden this CHP Cruiser popped out from in front of it and slammed on his brakes, he must have came from the number 3 lane. I had to clamp on the binders to avoid hitting him. First time I have ever had to brake that hard from 75 MPH.

Thank you Brembo

I thought about the salute, but if I had a loudspeaker and he could have heard my comments :want:

If I was in an Accord, I think it would have turned into an Accordian....

Only had my car a few months (about one year ago), and I was going only about 40-45 MPG. My then-2-1/2-year-old son was in the back. I had just handed him a bottle full of milk to drink. A dog came out of my peripheral vision from the right and ran out in front of the car headed across the road and totally not watching (dogs tend to not watch too well). Thinking about the dog's guts smeared all over the front of the car, not to mention the crunching sound of his body as the car rolled up and over the remaining carcass, I hit the brembos as quickly and as hard as I could.

Well, I could not believe how fast the car stopped, and the newer F1 runflats probably played a part in that, too. But, an object flew past my shoulder smacking into the dash and then fell to my feet near the brake pedal. It was my son's bottle!

The (stupid) dog went on his merry way, and I handed the bottle back to my son, and we went on our merry way with no blood shed anywhere. I think the driver behind me (fortunately far enough behind me) thought it was curtains for the dog, too.

Yes, those brembos do work GREAT! :)
