anyone know of any serious problems with the 92 brougham? Anything I should look/watch out for if i am considering buying a 92 brougham? I noticed many of them for sale are high mileage and would hate to buy myself a problem car.. thanks in advance!

post this in the brougham section....i dont think theres problems with it by the way...i had an 87.....the 92 will have a 305cin chevy, a motor thats been around for a while and there are alot of parts around for it...unless you get a d'elegance, then youll have a 350...cant go wrong with a 350!

From what I have heard, the 86-92 Broughams are some of the most reliable, trouble free, simple modern Cadillacs. The 305 that was standard in the '91 and '92 Broughams has a bit of an oil burning problem if I'm not mistaken, but thats with ALL TBI 305's though. The optional 350 is a great motor, I'd definetly look for one of those over a 305, and they we're not standard in the D'Elegances, nor was the 305 not available with the D'Elegance. You could get a regular Brougham with the standard 305 or the 350. Same with the D'Elegance.

The only problem I can think of is the digital dash not showing some info. But that's pretty rare, and it's not too expensive to fix.

Actually that's a pretty common problem and it's expensive to fix.

Really? I was over on the Oldsmobile forums site, asking about the digital dashes on the 91-96 Oldsmobile Ninety Eights and they say theres a company you ship your digital cluster to and they'll fix it for about $250 if I'm correct.

Yeah, it's been quoted at something like about $200 even for the Brougham dash IIRC.

That's not too bad. The biggest problem is driving the car without speedo/ gas guage!

great to hear.. i have narrowed my search to a 90 - 93 Brougham (preferred d'elegance).. one of the first things id do is put 18 inch vogues on it. anyone have a pic of the 90 - 93 brougham with 18 inch wheels (whether they are vogues or not)? I want to see what it looks like.

is this grill on all broughams between 90 - 93? Every once in awhile i see a brougham with a slightly different grill..

1993 was the new body style. Yes, Cadillac used the same grille on the '90-'92 models. But some times you see that E&G grille that looks like a Rolls Royce grille. That wasn't standard, that's aftermarket.

Theres some posts that already have information about the changes for the different years. Look through the old posts or just do a search and you'll find it. It keeps coming up again and again.
