View Full Version : maggie guys!!! 1badcady 05-06-06, 10:28 PM I've had my 2.6 pulley & meth injection kit for about a week , all
i can say is :bouncy: :highfive:   , these are must have mods! I cant wait
to see how cool it will run in the summer. no heat soak :bouncy: .
Now that I'm ready, cant find that damn M5 :want: . rand49er 05-07-06, 01:17 PM Now THAT is one nice list of mods! :worship: whoa!
I'm looking into a Halo kit sprayed into the Nter cooler 150-200hp.
Did you come from a 2.8 or 3.0 pulley or just start off with a bangin' 2.6?
Also, can you feed me a little info on the meth junk?
Thanks,

Thats a lot of power! lets hope the bottom end holds
up!. I had a 2.8 got bored then went with the 2.6.
For the alky kit, give Julio a call @ 727-526-9724,
He's really knows his stuff. The kit is fed off of your
windshield washer tank, sprays alchohol into the intake
which gives more power & runs, much cooler! Thats a lot of power! lets hope the bottom end holds

Nice...What kind of rwhp are you pulling now? Also, what kind of tune did you do to adapt?

I did one dyno pull with the stability control on :tisk: . she did 480hp &
445 trq. I kept my orginal stealth tune & adjusted the ALKY-CONTROL
for the additional boost. Keep in mind IMO going over 500 hp will
just bring on certain problems.
Chef keep in mind this is being very conservative!!! Also the high
octane of the meth will greatly reduce detonation, which is what
causes most engine damage  1badcady 05-07-06, 08:51 PM by the way meth is very inexpensive, compared to gas!!! lasstss 05-07-06, 09:59 PM This might cheese a few people off but what the heck.
Maggie, CAST manifolds (ext hone), Stealth Supertune, magnaflow, rtcats, stock air box (K&N), 2.8" pulley 470 at the wheels DJ# @6000rpm, and it hadnt peaked yet. wildwhl 05-07-06, 11:16 PM Sure, lasstss, but that's because you had a cheese grater hood, lol. Without it, gotta have some spray :D
Nice numbers, Marty. Hence the reason I don't need to dyno. Your numbers and mods are close enough to mine to convince me I'm going fast (or maybe it is the serious G's on acceleration). However, with the 2.6" pulley the boost comes on hard and fast, at an earlier level with higher peak boost. The meth injection can't hurt (save for possibly the coating on the maggie rotors).

If was doing it all over again theres no way i would do header's, but when you get use to those headers & WOT theres no going back, even for a few ponies & tq. The meth kit just gives you a little more security& kick, it doesn't hurt!!! just makes things run a little nicer!! There are quite a few people using meth injection to max their rwhp, but 1badcady is not. Without a doubt if he was running a "max the power" tune, he'd be flirting with 500hp. With the way he's running now, he has quite a bit of headroom.
The reasons for meth-injection is cooler intake temps and higher octane. Both will allow either more power or more safety...take your pick.
On Wednesday I'll be picking-up a 2002 Maggied Z06. AlkyControl will be added to my car to help battle detonation, keep intake temps lower, and aid in keeping the intercooler heatsoak at bay. The car is currently making 475hp/485tq...I'm not adding it for more power...it's not really needed.
For the cost of an alky kit, it's cheap insurance.
-ace To do this right, how much dinero are we talking to install?
Further, how often (estimated of course) does the alky need to be re-filled? Every fill up with gas perhaps? Where is the best place to purchase alky from in general?
I've not considered running this as of yet, but this thread is interesting. Please fill in the gaps! :) 1badcady 05-08-06, 08:30 PM To do this right, how much dinero are we talking to install?

I paid 1800.00 with the the install of the 2.6 pulley witch took a little
machine work. like i told Ace, when he buys the kit, we can do the install
it's not to difficult. The kit can be had for 450-500 bucks, mine was
the first V with the ALKY kit, so he couldn't give me a definite price.
The kit made for the GTO should be perfect, keep your existing washer tank,
it's perfect & lets you know when your dry!!! Perfecto!!! :highfive:
I've had the kit for two weeks, yesturday she went dry, figure every two
tank fills, fill her up. I purchased 4.5 gallon VP METH for $45 at the local perf shop.prabably could get much cheaper with a 15 gallon drum.
Thr kit is very simple, a high output pump, steel braided lines, with the electonics that sense boost-activating the pump, this all feeds off the
washer tank.
Hopefully this will help G-dammit...right when I think I'm near the end of my mod trail, something like this comes up...
Curse you 1badcad...curse you...:) 1badcady 05-08-06, 08:51 PM G-dammit...right when I think I'm near the end of my mod trail, something like this comes up...

It's all good brother  . Luna,
There are two things you should have with a maggied LS6...
1. Oil catch can
2. alky/water injection
These both help the motor avoid detonation. The alky also cools the maggie and the intake charge, which should help keep heatsoak to a minimum...or at least less than without the alky.
-ace wildwhl 05-08-06, 10:20 PM ace -
does it count if I have both but they're sitting on my workbench
