Mine tuned 6k today, and I do think it got a bit quicker, and it responds better for downshifts. It could just be that I drive it a little harder since I bought it though.

maybe the car has learned the way you guys drive and programmed itself to that parameter

That is exactly what is happening. The shift adapt programming is adjusting to the driving style, and if you are driving it the way it is meant to be, it is adjusting for quicker shifts.:) :)

I think Caddy puts a break in period, and when a certain amount of miles are reached it opens it up more.

My XLR-V now has 4k on it and yes they do seem to get faster as the get miles on them It may be computer, engine, but yes with out a doubt better A WORD TO THE WISE I replaced my air filters with FRAM AIR hogs ( like K&N ) and now getting 2 to 3 MPG better on the highway amazing.

I'll have to give the filter a try. I drive mine a lot and have to fill her up every other day. The readout says 15.2 mpg average.

The one annoying thing about this car is the tiny gas tank. I couldn't care less about the Escalade gas milage. The ability to make every other car on the road appear to stand still is worth it.

Last week I had two Navy F18 pilots in the car and when I nailed it THEY were impressed.

Yeah, if I fill up in the morning, and drive all day, it'll be empty by the afternoon.

Hi Bartlett_2,
when did you bought your car and how much miles you have on right now?

I bought it in the end of February, and now have 7400 miles. I drive a lot monday-friday, but usually not as much on the weekends.

What is the part number for the Fram Air Hog Filter? I can't find it listed for the STS-V series Cadillac.

Thanks

I looked as well and then noticed he has an xlr-v. however, the airhog filter for a 04 gto could be modified by triming the square edges to match the air box's curve. Upon completion, one would enjoy a noticable difference in performance.:cool2:

So you are doing about 40 K miles a year, I do about the same.
Thanks and have a nice weekend

I would never allow a Fram filter on my lawnmower nevermind my Caddy!

Just be sure to stay at least half full when driving through the great plains!

I revived this for some of the newbies to see if there is anything to our cars feeling quicker as the miles are put on. I am still granny driving but plan to open up a little this wknd.

Fram? Oh god.

If you are going to do it, at least get a K&N.

K&N doesn't currently have an air filter for the STS-V, I checked their website last week. I guess that means I'll just have to replace the whole intake!
