My '98 Cat is cutting out intermittently. It usually restarts after waiting a few minutes, but I am nervous about driving it for fear of being stranded.

Any suggestions? I am new to this car, and appreciate any experience/help.

Definitely check the crankshaft position sensor (or possibly camshaft position sensor). Search this forum - there's alot of info on common symptoms, where to get a replacement, and how to change it out.
